Ive been a member for about 6 months or so, and i still can't get jarvis to work.. im pretty much ready to give up and cut my sub, I've worked with community members and tried to fix it through the discord but nothing is working....

Travis Jenkins

I’m wanting to build something similar for a school project with a seeeduino xiao kit we were given. Are the sensors and components compatible?

Jack

I agree, hoping a whole start to finish guide to come.

anas haboub

I am interested in this project, but I am still confused as the manual lacks a lot of explanation. There is no video to explain the construction method step by step?

Ross Douglas

I designed a little insert for the power port that holds a naked usb-c female. let me know if you want, happy to contribute it to the project

Wasi

you should make a youtube video

HwlerWinger84

Are you planning on making a video for the AI plant pot for the hardware? because a lot of it feel poorly explained and you leave out suggestions to buy like an SD card for the raspberry pie and what kind of wiring to use for the LED light and moisture sensor (which you say comes with wiring but doesn't)

chad tassin

I was just wondering if there was ever any more information on the photoresistor, including where it gets mounted exactly, The hardware instructions are a little vague on the detail.

Donald Butts

is import neo suppose to be import neopixel?

Duncan Lane

Just wondering if it is necessaryto but the Soundcard, its not mentioned in the instructions what it does and when to use it and im a little confused on how to use it.

Casey Beck

I wonder if it’s possible to take sensor data only with an esp32 or arduino with WiFi and put all of these data to a central Raspberry Pi. It’s to much money for all of my 20 plants, if they all get a raspberry 😖

Zach Steelman

Starting to assemble the pot and electronics after ordering things from the link, it looks like the link for the LED ring that you shared isn't the same one that you show in the build (the one in the link is quite a bit smaller (I can make it work but definitely isn't the same size as the ring for the base). Also you might want to mention the need for a MicroSD card for the listing. A few other minor things I saw was the the link for the soil sensor doens't come with a connection wire (atleast mine didn't) or any extra header pins, possibly a header pin kit (5$ on amazon) would be helpful.

Sjoerd Stouten

Just an idea but if we add a cam to the plant it can recognise you and it we add the handtracking we can give it commands as well, gonna try this out

Kevin Coda

I have not tested on a pi 4. I apologize. Someone said they got a pi 3 to run this. The pi 5 has a fast processor which I thought might be critical for whisper to run real time. If you have a pi 4 and try it report back!

ChiefOMW

A Pi 4 will probably work, right?

Brantley O'Day

I'm going to attempt a Arduino version that is just math no ai

pepDC

Hey, If you make a version using a pre-trained model without OpenAI, it would be possible to add the steps to the guide for the noobs like me? Please!

Charity Colley

Great, Thank you so much!

Kevin Coda

https://a.co/d/iLsamex some builders had success with these. I just bought them and am going to make sure they work for this project

Kevin Coda

I'm working to get a link for the USBC port today. Truth is I had a few lying around from Amazon and just used one of those and now I can't find the link for it. I'll add a section detailing the photo resistor setup and testing of it. It's a little tricky to get values from.

Charity Colley

What product did you use for the USB C power port? Also, do you have any more instructions on how to setup the Photoresistor? I know you talked about it under hardware set up but didn't mention it again under the build instructions so I was just curious about that aspect.

Kevin Coda

Great idea, let me look at how to export to step, and I'll get that for ya.

Brantley O'Day

Could we get the .STEP files to modify the pot? I was thinking of making a wider, shorter version.

Kevin Coda

I'll add that now. Most polarized 10uF caps should work for this application. I'll find a link I just used some I had available.

Kevin Coda

I just added them, I'll add the other comments and update the doc. But for your reference the pot is 292g the base is 77g and the stand is 8g

Zach Steelman

Yes, if you can list the capacitor and the USB amplifier board I think I have everything else. Ordered everything to start building it for my girlfriend for mother's day, should be a good project/gift to keep me occupied next week.

Brantley O'Day

Also the capacitor for the photo resistor circuit

Brantley O'Day

Maybe add filament required in grams? Power supply?

Kevin Coda

Oh, my bad. I just realized those aren't on there. I'll add those today and repost. Let me know if there is anything else I forgot to add. I'm going to keep updating this. They are just some parts I found on Amazon. I'll get back to ya

Brantley O'Day

What parts did you use for the USB amplifier board and USB-C power port?

Kevin Coda

That's an interesting idea. I urge you to try, if not I'll probably give it a shot. Might be good for notifications for if you need to water your plant!

Zach Steelman

I wonder if you could ask the assistant to explain its decision thresholds or rules to trigger action into its own code that can run on its own? I’ve had good luck telling them to codify their own thresholds for other tasks but plant health may be more complicated to codify

Kevin Coda

Absolutely. Great idea. I'll get you a version without openai. Or maybe add a Boolean to turn it on and off. You can remove all the calls to assist.py from the plant.py and that should be a work around for now

Brantley O'Day

How about a version of the code that uses plain machine learning or something that doesn't require OpenAi and could possibly run offline? It could use the lights as normal and use a prerecorded alert sound.

Devin Roberts

I'll be around! All my family and friends know about your project because I am SO excited to get to work on it. One of my first patrons, couldn't have been an easier decision. I'll shoot you a message, I. Love the way you program using the IOT and engineering along with your python skills. Can't wait to learn from you!

Kevin Coda

I'll be publishing based on what people on patreon want next. Thank you for joining. If you want HoloMat next then that's what it's gunna be. Going to start posting the hand tracking and UI tutorials next week. Stay tuned! Feel free to reach out and DM with any questions. Id be happy to answer!

Devin Roberts

Worth every cent. Cannot wait to see what else you put out! You're a real inventor my man! I'm so excited to expand and build on that Holomat idea!
