After 2 weeks of intense sweating we finally got a build ready that we deem fun and mostly working enough to send out to you all.
For anyone who did not follow along over the past few months:
We did a massive Game System Refactor that focused on both Performance and well … our own Production Performance / Speed. That obviously brought with it plenty of little tidbits to fix and debug and our Team, with the help of our awesome Taste Testers on Discord, has been hacking and slashing away at the build issues that the refactors brought with them.
Before we head into further detail we want to make sure you read this: Thank you! Thanks for your support, thanks for being patient and thanks for giving us the time to make this happen! We have a lot of fun working on ANBW and it would not be possible without your support!
While this build still has plenty of small details that we want to fix over the next months, this build also is the starting point of a more regular release schedule! We´re aiming for roughly monthly game content releases that focus on both Sandbox and Story.
Let's put an asterisk on this though: Some of the Story content will at first be playable in so called “Block Out” state, which means either animations, environments or other gameplay elements will be not fully polished during certain releases. This helps us out progress the story while also continuously polishing the connected systems.
Let's leave some of the finer details of this topic for a future dev blog though and dive into what this release brings with it … and let me tell you it's A LOT.
Of course we have an update to the Story, which also brings in a major large new sex encounter with your favorite V-Tuber Projekt Melody. Or you skip it and go the virgin route, it's up to you! <3
As part of this sex encounter you can get a taste of the new and updated sex system and if you ever feel like you want to see more of this? Go play the Sandbox where you can replay the story sex poses and discover other new ones … and if one is missing -> make your own ones and share it with your besties (or random gooners) on discord!
Our Lovense Integration also has been receiving a major update! Additionally to the game controlling the toy, we now support Toy to Game Control (on Toys that support the feature), which allows your toy to drive parts of the Sex Gameplay Inputs.

Outside of the two major updates for Story and Sandbox we worked on the City, Mels Apartment, Blairs Lab, Updated the Alleyways leading to Blairs lab, Updated the Park … added a Blockout of System Headquarters, the Hover Car Port and much much more … even something magical ;)
If I had to put down every bit we worked on it would fill half a book, so let's skip this for now too and have a look at our known issues and bug list:
KNOWN ISSUES
NPC Navigation Soft Locks when loading into the Alleyway the first time. This is related to Navigation not loading correctly and will be resolved shortly. For now, simply save and reload.
NPC Facial Animations can break when Expressions meet LipSync. This will be addressed in a future update when we had more time working on the Expressions themselves!
Mel WILL get stuck in the Bathroom, but we made sure you can open the door for her if that happens, so please help her get unstuck ^^
In Tutorial some stuff just doesn't work correctly yet, for example weapon switching. In theory you should be able to switch between Baton and SystemHQ Pistol, this will be fixed in a future update to the combat system and be released when the ARENA MODE is opened again for playtesting!
T1M sometimes very aggressively runs after Mel and literally sticks to her face! Yes it's kinda funny but we´ll make it a little bit less 4th wall breaking in the future.
In the later sections of the story Melody is sprinting like crazyyyy. Honestly feels like we´ve had a hard time testing slow walking so this will be fixed in the next patch to have a bit more of a relaxed time when strolling through the park 😀
Mission Markers sometimes dont always vanish and are often hard to discover. This is a system that has not YET received a refactor and will receive it in the coming months. You can look forward to a more … typical … mission marker ! Mark :3
The recording input feature of the sex gameplay miiight carry over from one pose to another. Test it. If it still happens it's actually pretty funny and yes this won't stay that way for long so take the chance to use it correctly in the wrong way!
Sandbox currently has only male player character. This will be updated in a future update!
Lovense is currently having connection issues every now and then. We found out that a full reinstall of the remote app seems to reliably fix connection issues and will be working with our friends over at Lovense to find a more reliable solution.

Audio Interaction with certain elements is not working.

Sorry for the late response, I must have missed the comment until now! We have planned a Chinese translation for the future release on steam! (Simplified Chinese)

Already noted down, there is a possibility to at least have french subtitles but we have to figure out WHEN a good time is do get that in, since its added cost and it makes more sense to do the translation when everything is in the game, compared to doing it too early.

i downloaded v5.6.0 but the game seems very poorly optimised, even running on the lowest graphic setting with reduced resolution it still runs like a potato on 13fps is there anyway to make it run a little faster?

The newer version has some changes to navmesh loading and unloading and one distance check removed that can trigger a softlock.

You can store versions if you want to keep them. But you should definitely zip your old save game folder before starting the newest build so its not interfering with the new build when saving / loading. Also make sure to make a save game before you go into the alleyway ;) ;)
