Second channel: Will a video card with DVI fix my DOS text-mode issues?
🕑 Added 2025-05-20 00:50:18 +0000 UTCHello my patrons! It's time for a quick follow-up on the Dolch PAC-62 iPad 3 screen replacement. I have many many suggestions to try out a video card with a digital video interface and see if that allowed DOS text modes to work. Unfortunately for me, PCI video cards with DVI are pretty rare, especially ones that are old enough to have really good DOS support. After looking through all the cards I had, I managed to find a couple cards that might work, so in this video I gave them a try with the iPad 3 screen and see if things work in DOS.
Thanks for all the support!

Cool video! Love the retro look and upgraded graphics options you're trying to implement. The AGP card you have the won't fit the socket was voltage related but not 5V. It is a 1.5V variant moving the key toward the rear. The key in the main board you have is for 3.3V cards. Hope this helps!

Hi Adrian. I have 3 800’s.. one classic and 2-XLs. Unfortunately they all work lol. Never had an issue . Simple composite mod on all. Not great content machines I’m afraid

If you haven't heard about it, you can use high resolutions in Windows 3.1 through a VBE driver: https://github.com/PluMGMK/vbesvga.drv?tab=readme-ov-file
