Main channel: The Dolch PAC-62 gets an amazing screen upgrade
🕑 Added 2025-05-12 21:42:30 +0000 UTCHello my patrons! I hope everyone in the northern hemisphere is enjoying some nice springtime weather. I've been getting out to enjoy it as things are so nice in Portland right now. That doesn't mean I haven't been spending time working on projects, and here is the next main channel video. I decided to give the recently featured Dolch PAC-62 a big screen upgrade. This upgrade wasn't without issues as you'll see in this video, but I think it was still worth doing.
I still have more work to do with this machine, but let me know what you think of this upgrade.
Thanks for all the support!

The issue with any DOS utility is this won't work in the BIOS screen, and for a device like this I definitely neet working POST and BIOS screens.

Didn't VESA VGA Bios Extensions allow you to set the video mode? If I remember correctly you can switch to higher/lower column modes and graphics modes. There may even be a way to over-ride refresh rate. Not sure if it would work with DOS games, but should work with DOS tools. You may want to look in that direction.
