Episode 661: Nintendo Museum
🕑 Added 2024-12-27 08:00:04 +0000 UTCThis past October, Nintendo cut the ribbon on a museum dedicated to their 135-year history of making amusing, well-designed distractions. It sounds like good news, but if you're a fan of the company and not in the Kyoto region, you could be experiencing a near-fatal case of FOMO. Thankfully, four of us found ourselves visiting or perhaps living within Japan in recent months, and now we're ready to report back about the bounty within that nondescript white building. This week on Retronauts, join Bob Mackey, Nina Matsumoto, Diamond Feit and Kyle McClain as the crew details every part of their Nintendo Museum experience before exiting through the gift shop.

cannot promise anything but I do wish to visit Portland someday, ideally for PRGE. I have never set foot in Oregon!

I'm Canadian and I'm going in Feb the calling part was not a problem for me. The bot or whatever you call didn't even pick up it rang a couple times then just disconnected but I got the "yep that's you" confirmation right away and there was no extra charges on my bill. Maybe they changed things. The harder part was figuring out international dialing since I am not used to it. I knew about 011 and Country codes in concept but not in actual practice.

Great episode as always! I also hope we don’t have to wait for 10 more years to hear Kyle again, he was really good!

I third the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and also Diamond, I'd love to hear an update after you attend the museum with your family.

I have seen his luggage so I can confidently say his legal first name is Geronimo.

Absolutely unplanned and I guess we should've seen it coming.

I also just noticed that, at episode 661, we’re due for #666 on Inauguration Day. Coincidence or foresight?

Thanks for this public service episode — I especially appreciated Kyle’s infectious enthusiasm!

If Jeremy isn't actually Parish's real name, I assume his real name is Toasty Frog Parish :P
