And don’t discount the chalice dungeons! They’re confusing at first but there is logic and lore to them

There is a bow in the game… Simon’s Bowblade

It is a shame that the chalice dungeons are aging more poorly than anything else in Bloodborne. It's getting harder to imagine new people spending the time to reach the Pthumerian Queen like I did in college with far more free time. And now the codes for the best ones are long wind widely known so theres little mystery left. Some dungeons let me farm echoes and gems like crazy at least.

I finally decided to give the Souls games a try during the pandemic and, after some very frustrating initial gameplay sessions with Dark Souls 1 (I really was on the verge of quitting a few times), everything finally clicked and it was as if the scales fell from my eyes once I finally got my hands on the Zweihander. Like Bob, I am not the best at playing video games, so being able to stagger basically every enemy made the game really fun for me, and it was then that I realized what the appeal of the game series is: there's no wrong way to play it. Whatever kind of fighting gameplay you enjoy doing, focus on that and build your character around that, and the game will be fun. After beating Dark Souls 1 and 2, my friend suggested I give Bloodborne a try. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, and while I did enjoy it, once the game took its Lovecraftian turn it was honestly hard for me to continue to play it. Cosmic horror is probably the thing that scares me the most in fiction and this game really tested my limits. I did keep playing it, though, simply because the gameplay was so good, and I finally beat it and accepted my fate as a space slug.
