After the pause of September, here we are!
I've noticed that many new people have joined us in the meanwhile, and I want to thank you all, old and new, for your support, that I really appreciate.
I'm going to upgrade my CPU, motherboard and RAM soon, to get at least a 60% performance improvement on the processor side.
That's helpful because, for example, Gregory (in Cash or Swap) has some compenetration with his clothes that makes posing him really slow with my current build. I can fix it lowering the SubD setting each time I pose him, but it doesn't look good in the final render. And I've already noticed a huge difference in using the Ryzen 3 1200 that I have in my secondary PC or the Ryzen 5 1600.
This exam session has been really harsh (one of the hardest I can recall), but it went pretty well, so it was worth it.
Actually, I'll still be very busy with university these first two weeks, but I'm going to release new comic pages on Monday anyway, as always!
This month I'd like to complete Cash or Swap, and to finally start another story I've been wanting to make for a long time now.

Is it for every Zen 2 CPU or for the already overclocked ones? I think the 3900X is already near its maximum regarding clock speed at stock, while the 3600 should go near the 3600X

Thank you! :D I think I am going to overclock my RAM sticks from 3200 to 3600, that's the maximum speed supported by that motherboard. I'm currently overclocking my RAM from 2400 to 2666, but when I had only 2 sticks I was able to reach 3000, with a very basic mobo, so I hope I shouldn't have any problem to reach that frequency!

They are not a good overclockable, but you kinda underclock them actually, strange as it seems, ive saved up for the big upgrade when it came out with the 3900X and everything, but im already in the workforce so have a bit to invest in this stuff, cant overclock it too much, as it gets unstable fast, i even overclocked my 3200MHz ram Corsair

To tell you this before anything, a 3600Mhz ram will last you and doable with upgrades if you plan to up the CPU further down the line, that is the sweatspot for getting performance out of the New Ryzen Zen2 CPUs

I absolutely agree, indeed I'm going to take a Ryzen 5 3600, and I'm gonna overclock it with a Wraith Stealth cooler I have :D My motherboard is not up to the task, I'll take a good B450M (micro-ATX case). I'll take 2x8Gb at 3200Mhz, while now I have 4x4Gb at 2400Mhz without any dissipation. I'll add 16 more Gb down the line, I had thought about doing that now, but I actually don't need it for rendering (that's the "heaviest" thing I do with my PC) at the moment. While I could use some more CPU performance :D

Whenever you get the cash to upgrade further, Ryzen 3600 is a good starting point for the big upgrade, and if you are able to further initiate an new Motherboard that supports the new Ryzen chips with some cheep 32gb ram you should be set for many years without thinking about motherboard upgrades until they come out with DDR 5 Type RAM or similar big leaps. Though thats an east 500-600$ for the whole package as the new motherboards is quite expensive, but thats because they can handle big power consumption from the biggest Ryzen 3900X So be on the lookout for black friday soon if you can afford the wait and packge deals with the new Ryzen CPUs
