It is insane how easily guy 3's situation was fixable! He had so many chances! Literally just start taking her on frequent dates and cooking for her! Make an active effort to improve - she clearly wants to stay with you and cares about you and you know you're the asshole - fix it! You recognize how lucky you are, so why would you fuck it up more? How would your first reaction be to PROPOSE AFTER TAKING HER FOR ONE PROPER DATE??? And then clearly you changed nothing after that date/proposal at all! It's just so frustrating to see this guy who had life handed to him on a silver platter and just shoved it to the side with his own selfishness.
