Last situation I feel is the clash of the "I need to make every second of my vacation count or I'm wasting it" mindset and the "I go on vacation to enjoy my normal life with less stress" mindset. Girlfriend wants to get the most out of her week with her boyfriend, boyfriend just wants a normal week enhanced by the presence of his girlfriend. Neither mindset is wrong to have imo, but both can be toxic, especially when they clash. I don't think the guy is de-facto wrong for wanting a chill week instead of going all out, but he definitely should have done better communicating that desire and tried to come to a more amenable compromise. Regardless, guy definitely needs to put in more effort and be more proactive about things!
