re: the casserole thing, i wonder if OP could’ve salvaged it by offering to cook together with her sister. that way she still gets to contribute the way she wants to, but OP can try to steer her away from making it inedible. it would be damage control disguised as a sisterly bonding moment. just my thots idk if i missed anything

Not to defend the business majors, but clearly the last one is a textbook example of bad marketing. Whole nightmare could have been avoided if she spun this better and didn't all but outright say "your cooking sucks and none of us want it." Glaze her taste in alcohol, or say that rather than her bringing a dish you could absolutely NEED her help cooking something day-of in you kitchen (where you can keep on eye on her and veto any "creative" additions). At the end of the day, if the sister is cool with bringing a dish nobody likes just let her, it's not like it's a reflection on you

I was kind of on board with the last one--it kind of sounds like a keto dish I'd make, if I were still doing that consistently. I still think OP is the asshole there though. It literally harms no one to bring it, if it's bad just don't eat it. It's like the most straightforward thing.
