I think all siblings are like that. I am 2nd born of 4 kids and we are all about a year and a half apart. My brother and I used to beat the shit out of each other growing up. Now he and I are the closest out of the 4 of us LOL I also have 5 kids... that was great bc if they got sick of playing with one of their siblings they would go find another to play with hahaha but honestly, the dynamic you both explained is true for all families in some way. The youngest of my kids is turning 16 in a week and he is spoiled to hell and back for the simple reason that being the youngest of 5 kids (25, 21, 20, 19, 16) I am tired at this point and do not have the energy to be as strict with him. Thankfully he is the best behaved and the smartest so I don't have to hassle him too much. He definitely learned the good and bad from his older siblings.
