Why do Black Brits consider Caribbean heritage more legit than American for Black people? Fuhad is exempt from this but James & Rem qualify for this one. I've heard James say his dad is from Trinidad & Rem say he's got some roots in Jamaica. When it comes to the slave trade in the Americas which includes the Caribbean, Black people are not indigenous. Yet when it comes to Brits if they say a parent or grandparent is from a Caribbean island, it's accepted, from the U.S. not so much. Same scenario only difference is location meaning it literally comes down to where got off on the ship. I know the "where got off the ship" sounds terrible, unfortunately it's facts. This is besides the qualifications for being part of the "commonwealth". To date, anyone considered part of the "commonwealth" has to pay an extra fee to get British citizenship except the Irish (that's another rabbit hole I can down but I won't).
