Worst way I’ve been rejected.. was in middle school I had asked my friend RJ out via note this is back when we had special ways of folding notes to look all cool. This was 6th grade. Middle school is 6-8 here. Let me preface by saying the previous year in elementary school my 5th grade boyfriend we were dating (holding hands that’s pretty much it) for 3 months but his friends dared him to break up with me infront of everyone as we lined up to go back into class. Which was 4, 5th grade classes watching . He had just given me a teddy bear with roses and all this stuff a few weeks prior and then did this so I slapped him when he dumped me in front of 45 people on a dare. ) Back to the original story RJ wanted to be just friends and came to tell me in person that he just wanted to be friends . His friends were the same as my 5th grade boyfriends (whom we were all still friends) but they ran when he turned me down making a big scene. It was humiliating. RJ hadn’t gone to school with us the year prior so he just stood there with me looking confused as to why our friends were running away. (I did not slap Rj lol ) 25 yrs later all of us are still friends but that was harsh. Never dated again til after highschool.
