I do understand your point and no offense to the boys, but no one should be seeking any kind of validation from this pod and therefore no one should be putting any kind of expectations on them. They have never insinuated that they are role models or ever strive to be therefore I truly think people should set aside their personal feelings and see the pod for what it is - just lighthearted conversations and jokes. Taking offense when I’m not acknowledged as their preference sounds like a personal problem. If offended, then I’m supporting them for the wrong reason. I know I’m not their preference but I continue to support them simply because they keep a smile on my face. We shouldn’t wish to change them. They are who they are and like who they like and it’s their platform therefore they are not obligated to talk about those who they aren’t passionate about. I would rather them continue to be their authentic selves and speak on who they find attractive than attempt to be inclusive by touting up women who they may or may not find attractive. I understand preference, but when you don’t speak about an entire group of woman as attractive you end up with little girls feeling less than. I see you are Jamaican also so know what I’m talking about when it comes to the bleaching epidemic. I am not sure why everyone has the expectation of them NEEDING to be attracted to dark skin women. Everyone has a preference and is definitely entitled to it. It certainly doesn’t mean they hate dark skinned women. For example, I love black men overall but my preference is dark skinned more towards Fuhad’s skin tone. Doesn’t mean I don’t think James is also attractive but Fuhad’s skin tone is my preference. I just wish people would just allow them to just speak freely on who they are attracted to without pushing this narrative that they need to publicly acknowledge and gas those who are not their preference just because they are black men.

Since some of us older folk are not into Rap etc I hope they have a show whereby they ask their fans of a certain age to mention their favourite songs from e.g. the 70s and 80s and see if when the SNG Men play it - the guys like it or hate it. LOL!! When I grew up in the 60s and 70s in Nigeria, being British was the be all and end all. Our Missionary Schools etc drummed that into us (We had to speak the Queen's English) - So you have a lot of my classmates who have a blend of English, Irish (the Nuns were Irish & British) and Nigerian accents. I spent a lot of time with my American God Mum as a child so, although now after decades of living here I sound more British - as a child I had a mixture of accents - British, Irish, American, Yoruba (I grew up in Yoruba land) and Igbo (My mother tongue - but I can barely speak Igbo, as we spoke English at home). BUT WHEN IT CAME TO URBAN MUSIC - WOW! The Americans topped it!! Being a black American Music Star back then was the be all and end all n Nigeria and COPYING everything Black American Music Stars did - Music wise - was the goal! Black American Music Stars were like gods; including White American - Jim Reeves (RIP) and his Country Music and Mariam Makeba! Hence it is so strange - people of my age have an eclectic taste - British Music, Classical Music, Reggae, Afro beats, Black American Music, (and the latest American dances); American Country Music and South Africa's Miriam Makeba (RIP)!! But aside from our Afro beats etc - Black American Musicians ruled the day!! Phew!! The influence they had and the high esteem Black American Stars had in Nigeria - was on a different level! Hence it is ironic that now at my age after gorging on American Music, it all seems to be Rap today, which I never listen to. LOL! So to listen to American Music, I revert back to the old school! My God-Mother is a Black American, she married my Nigerian God-Father - (RIP), back in the 1950s. They met in the States when he was studying there. She came back to Nigeria with him. I remember, each time she went back to America on Holiday, she would return with the latest records from the States. Bless her - she is now in her late 80s and still lives in Nigeria. Even though most of her kids (and grand kids) now live in America. Edit: On 2nd thoughts - so our boys are not trolled again - possibly instead of saying 'hate' - they could just rate what is sent in - from one to three or ten. My heart would break if these boys were trolled again.

I LOVE suits. As a woman I ALWAYS wear suits or a blazer - smart and/ or casual (Skirts suits or trouser suits). If our darling SNG men turn up in suits - OMG! I don't know what I'll do with myself. I'll be so happy. Oh! By the way, may be it's an age thing - I did not know ANY of the songs our SNG men mentioned let alone the artists. Not to mention, as I have said before - I don't like Rap - I can never understand what they say (British or American Rappers) - if the guys hadn't sung along today, I would have had no clue. I prefer old school music e.g. Blues; R&B; Soul; Jazz; Afrobeat (older generation like Fela Ransome Anikulapo Kuti); Ballards etc the likes of Teddy Pendergrass; George Benson; Kool & the Gang; Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Earth Wing & Fire, Sting's Police (e.g. 'Every breath you take'), Lionel Ritchie, Shalamar, Shakakan, Boney M, The Whispers ("And the Beat goes on!") etc. and THAT song - "AH! Freak out!" - from the 1970s. The guitarist (the formidably talented Nile Rogers), from "AH! Freak out!", played in Ferrell's amazing song "Because I'm happy". May be that is why I love - "Because I'm happy!" - it carries that vibe I love! I heard Nile say in an interview recently that "Ah! Freak out"- was formulated in 5 minutes, back in the day: They had gone to a Night Club (Studio 54), in New York, to meet Grace Jones , but were not allowed in. She had invited them, but the door man did not believe them. They came back cheesed off and he got on his guitar (with the other guitarist), and in defiance they started singing - "AH! F#ck off!" - at the top of their voices in their apartment. It was such a good sound they decided to sell it but changed the lyrics etc to "AH! Freak out!" (Le Freak, sung by Chic) to reflect the dance of the day. May the soul of the other guitarist rest in peace. LOL!
