Highlights in the eyes! Dark accents around the features of the face! Long sinuous strands of curly hair!
In this video we are going to wrap up this super challenging, and very expressive portrait in Sepia chalk. What a medium.

I haven't tried those two drawing materials yet. Maybe once I have checked them out I could offer some advice.

Sanguine more so than compressed charcoal in my experience.

Also, wanted to know if the conte' a Paris and the Stabilo Carbothello pencils would have a similar capability to the sepia chalk? Thanks.

Would sanguine chalk and compressed charcoal behave in a similar way to the sepia chalk?

I usually put parchment paper or wax paper in between my drawing if I have to store them flat. After spraying fixative, of course.

Yay, Sepia! That bit about shape design with the hair was especially helpful, thanks. Hair gets the better of me every time. :x Just wondering -- how would you go about storing a sepia drawing (i.e. I don't want to throw it out but don't want to hang it on my wall, either). I read that some people put acid free paper over theirs.
