Glad to hear it's going well! You can have as many or as few brushes as you like. 1-8 is referring to a selection between those sizes, not necessarily each one.

My sketch went surprisingly well and finished with you! What an encouragement! I am gathering supplies and have a question about your list of brushes: when you list Rosemary flats 1-8 (or Utrecht flats, rounds 4-8 and 4-10) do you mean 8 brushes numbered 1 through 8? Pardon my ignorance, so far I've been using what i have had in my studio. Thanks so much for a great start on this! very excited btw
