This is the second mention of streams that I've seen. Does that mean this "premiere" feature of YouTube or have I been missing something all this time?
Fabian Röling
Yeah, some sayings are really messed up… https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stick_a_needle_in_my_eye

bit of a stretch but maybe the whole yue moon thing and the consistent full moon is some type of thing on yue is watching over them and their journey? and when its not full she isn't, and somehow only we can see it as the audience on some spirit world type something? idk man, wait, there was bad moon continuity before she became the moon too wasn't there, shit. nevermind man
Sourprize
Can I just say that when he said about people saying it was a waste of time, I had just come out of netflix and it was doing a cycle of shows and whatnot and the live action movie came up XD
GooseTaCacho
The play in this is almost scene for scene the live-action movie
Hank Olstead
okay so I think the drill being boring is a wordplay joke, as in the drill is literally "boring" a hole in the walls of Ba Sing Se
Woboggun
assault lmao
Cyniex
To me this episode is basically just pure filler and cringe with an added Aang assaults Katara moment sprinkled on top, i legit had a tough time watching it for the first time and never watched it since then.
Colin Balzer
Also azula didn’t hit Iroh in the play bc propaganda
Keegan Scott
So, watching this after reading The Search made me realize something else... Zuko's mother took him to "Love Amongst the Dragons" because that was her show. That was the show where the royal family came and took her away before she could perform with her lover. Holy shit.
Cyniex
Every stream he makes people keep asking for Korra, every time he sees it, he responds "every time you ask it gets less likely" or something like that, stop asking if you want it.
Nikolai Nyborg
Dear god I forgot how much I enjoy these. Hopefully you'll consider doing Korra after you've done the finale.
Brett Anderson
One of my favorite episodes of the series. It's a super fun and unique way to do a recap while also poking some fun at yourself along the way. Especially since the next episodes are extremely high stakes finale episodes. The only parts I don't love are Sokka and Suki going backstage and having the Sokka actor just decide to adlib a few random jokes. And the yawning scene from the audience they just never really fit for me on the feel of what an actual play would be like. Love the content!

hey, awesome video as always! for the record my discord is croakenby#7805 - i was told to comment on the latest video here!
Charles Barnett
I was raised with "more than one way to skin a rabbit."
Sigurd Lund Boytang
New Patreon here. Great points in the comment section such as Aang mentioning his chakra block to remind viewers before the final and people yawning cuz it's BORE-ring. Are these videos final edit or do you sometimes add such great observations to the youtube vid, when mentioned in the Patreon comments?
Hunter Spears
I think it comes from the expression "there's more than one way to skin a cat", meaning there's different ways to accomplish the same goal
Tyler0988
So I dont wanna be that guy but maybe saying one of your patrons knows every way to skin a cat is maybe not the best? lol
Josie Tiffany
As far as recap episodes go, I think this one was really well done. Not my favorite but it’s still good.
ZoSo127
Thanks! It definitely took me a couple of watches before that clicked for me haha. Love the series man, can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
Fierce
Omg I was not prepared for the running staff joke, that really got me
complete cannon
That's actually a really good point and I never took that line that way for some reason. But now that you say that, that's probably exactly what they meant with it.
Fingael Karn
Oh dammmmn really? It’s weird bc there’s a group who did like parody of Atla that was like “Book 1, then 2 and then 3” in a nutshell and they echoed the idea that the drill episode was dull - which kind of irked me tbh bc that episode is excellent imo.
Thomas Dell
Hello, Thomas here

Good point as far as the practical “use” for that line goes. As far as the line itself, I’ve always taken that as Aang saying he’s so upset over the play’s depiction of his and Katara’s relationship that if he could still go into the Avatar state, it would have been triggered. Sort of his way of hinting towards how much weight it carries for him. “You think I’m overreacting now? I’d have lost control like I did when I found out about Gyatso if I could.” Maybe not the writers’ intention, but it’s the only way I’ve been able to contextualize the line so it’s not just totally out of the blue.

Noooo.. you skipped me in the credit compliments.. :(
Christian Spatz
“And there goes the staff”. IT’S BEEN SO LONG!
matthew james Stromberg
i just have to say i look forward to your videos every week :)
Piemaster74
I was figured that aang mentions his chakra in that scene to remind people for the finale

Recap episodes have always bothered me in shows like these, even if they are meant to be fun and never to be taken to seriously, I just don't like them because they always feel kind of shoehorned in last minute most of the time. I have always liked how Toph and Zuko get a moment this episode though
mwarrior777
There is a theory that the playwright of "The Boy in the Iceberg" is actually an avatar sympathizer. The whole play is set up to make the fire nation and Ozai look like the antagonist, but still needed to be a propaganda film, and that's why it ends the way it does. I think Pu-On Tim is even from the earth kingdom.
Ryan Shaw
Thats great love this
Shawn McAteer
I'm amazed I got this joke and you didn't, but they showed people yawning during the drill was because it was Bore - ing. Not just boring, it was a huge BORE! Ha, Soka humor at its finest.
NE R
Funny thing, the "hair too long" joke is actually kinda what happened. I believe Nickelodeon told Avatar writers and producers that Zuko's hair was "getting out of hand" in "The Beach". That was in fact as long as Zuko's hair would get, after that they made it shorter and it never grew past that.
Rolling Thundercat
After watching this, I just realized the little Aang that talks to Zuko is voiced by Zach Tyler Eisen
Skylar Lee Mills
I usually skip this episode. But it’s worth watching ya know?
the8thgear
This episode has always bothered me. The play has too much detail. How would anyone know how Aang came out of the ice? How about their conversations in the air?
Adrianna
This is honestly one of my favorite episodes in the whole show. I hope the Netflix live action takes the Fandom advice and used the "movie that we don't speak of" actors and have them play the ember island players
Snarfield
The "he's right!" bits get me every single time.
Dr. Diabeto
Yue really do be on that monthly cycle tho
