Personally, loved the fight scene between Appa and Momo. In my opinion it looks like Momo is being modeled after Usagi Yojimbo, a rabbit Ronin from an old Stan Sakai comic series. If only that comic had a show!

3:58 Aang runs just like they run in Naruto, so he could be Naruto himself, or an Aang version of a character in Naruto's ninja world. He is also hiding his face, akin to Kakashi sensei, or even more similarly, Shino. The hair style somewhat resembles Sasuke's. All mostly prominent characters in Naruto. 8:42 This Appa vs Momo is an awesome scene! Since it is incredibly whacky and the ridiculousness is hilarious, goes to unexpected drawings and situations of the Gaang which you don't get often to have fun and get this extreme with the imagery! I definitely Love this part! 10:06 This is Link, from Legend of Zelda games series. Great Episode as always! Thanks for the enjoyable content! :)

Ya I was going to say it’s vash

Well Toph did tell Sokka to buy a nice Atlas of the Fire Nation so that's probably where he got the maps also

I think the episode is great, and realistic. If you are up for multiple days you are gonna start halucinating. Which then gives a meaningful reason for all the goofiness, which is needed and good to have in Avatar episodes (at least every so often).

I completely agree with not watching it for it to be dark all the time but this amount of goofy was more than too much imho

Man bitchute sucks :( Have you tried https://odysee.com/ as an alternative? Anyways great episode!

Hey, thats good!

TrueMayhem

I believe the outfit in the second dream sequence is a reference to Trigun. Not sure on the third one though.

in regards to the appa momo vs battle, I always chalk it up to that , it is also a kids show, and when I was a kid I loved that shit and thought it was great

I love the lizard gag you’ve been doing at the end lol

Seth Moore

I really like this episode depicting the amount of stress Aang goes through but being sandwiched a dark episode and a pivotal episode breaks the flow

Seth Moore

Bro what if Hama blood bent herself to make herself fly (or hover)

FingerSizedToes

Absolutely love the samurai shit. When do you get to see the animators goof off like this atleast it was in a filler ep

I think that something that's easy to forget with Toph is that just because she's basically a walking sonar, doesn't necessarily mean that she has perfect perception all the time. Just because you can see doesn't mean that you can't be surprised by something coming up from behind, the sides, or, hell, even directly in front of your face. She might technically be able to detect something within a certain radius of herself, but in that moment (with Hama) she was concentrating really hard, focusing on something very specific really far away. Like, have you ever been hyper focused on trying to see something really small that you were focusing in on, or else something really far away, and then because you are so concentrated on something so specific you don't notice that there's someone standing directly in front of you trying to get your attention? I think that's kind of what's going on here. Also, it's been demonstrated that Toph's "vision" becomes much more amplified the more she stomps around. Now, whether this is because of her own Earthbending being used, or because she's creating vibrations in the ground it's kind of unclear (probably both to different degrees, though this does kind of explain why she can just feel the Fire Lord's bunker by just walking around, seeing as how there's a war with explosions and huge chunks of rock being hurled into the ground, and in Ba Sing Se she had to exert effort herself to feel the catacombs, since they were in the relatively calm city at the time). But either way, when they were telling ghost stories and she "heard" screaming from under the mountain, they were all sitting very still and she was straining to hear it. Meanwhile, with the porcupine, she had JUST been stomping around like a fucking madwoman a lot, so she probably got a damn good look at everything around her.

I recently showed the full series to a couple friends who had never seen it before, and the appa vs momo bit in this episode was an absolute highlight, turning into a full laughing riot before it ended. I feel like the show doesn't go out of the way to just be silly, so when it does it really makes it worthwhile (see also: the ember island players)

Great content as always man 🙏

I think Toph couldn’t hear Hama that one time ‘cause of all the screaming underground. Spooky. Also, I was on the fence about subscribing, buuuuuut that Google Images iguana’s got me leaning a lil closer. Forget about the part where I’m already a Patreon supporter.

Samurai Appa vs Ronin Momo is a highlight of the series. Seriously, I love it.

Those are the three that I saw, though the Naruto one also looks very Bleach...

I love this episode! Sure it’s wacky and honestly very weird. But what else do you expect when over the course of 72 hours you get maybe 3 hours of sleep. That’s what it seemed like was happening to Aang. It’s wacky, but it’s fun lol.

The gag during the yoga scene where it's upside down Aang unlocking his chakras made me laugh so loud while I was on the can at work my manager heard it and I got written up for goofing off at work 🤣

Steve_Ross

I always look forward to this episode when rewatching avatar especially appa vs momo

Matacoyo

Goku, Naruto, Samurai Jack?

Marcus Davis

The appa vs momo thing was definitely a low point for me, but the episode itself isn't bad. Like you said it shows Aang is stressed about the invasion and it gives up some insight on what Zuko is up to.

NE R

Appa vs Momo is hilarious. It kinda showed that even Aang realizes that Appa and Momo's relationship has grown in a way that resembles siblings, in the way that they go at each other's throats...literally
