You have no idea how many times I replayed the "I KNOW! IM WATCHING THE SHOW!" Part. So funny and so absolutely true. I don't really have time to watch the full show, so my interaction with the show has been through these videos, but man is this thing rough. It seems like they couldn't get a single aspect of this show right more than once, and just kept finding new ways to stomp all over the original.

3:40 yet another moment of bending without any semblence of martial arts / physicality + open fire claw for good measure :/

Through all my secondhand embarrassment at the terrible dialogue in this show, I was GRINNING whenever Zhao was onscreen lmao.

something that really upset me is there being a 6th fire sage. there was 5 in the original show, it makes no sense for them to change that

Its episodes like this that make me think that Atla was lightning in a bottle in its entirety, and that it will never again be recaptured. At least if they keep retreading ground like this. If the Adult Gaang movies are bad then my suspicions will be confirmed and I will divorce myself from this franchise.

There is a small, but very meaningful difference in how Aang discovers who the blue spirit is: In the original, the mask slips and the scar becomes visible. Aang basically already knows that it is Zuko at that point, but has to be sure, so he removes the mask. In the Netflix show, Zuko just gets knocked out, the mask stays solidly on his face. Aang only removes the mask because he is nosy and it is literally the first second when he has an opportunity to find out, despite still being in danger.
