The "Avatar Cycle Alert" had me laughing so hard
Kevin Bartelen
Okay, my bad, you did bitch about the Lion Turtle spirit bending shit. That being said, as bad as this ending was, comparing it to the strengths of ATLA when it's an equally bad ending feels wrong... They both ended poorly, can we just move on now?
Kevin Bartelen
Your complaints about the "beam struggle" is exactly what I hate about the ending to ATLA. Instead of coming up with something clever Aang starts to glow, and then so does Ozai, and we get some dialog about Aang needing to be Unbendable, but there's absolutely no way for the audience to understand why Ozai starts to win, but the no, actually Aang is better than him and wins the glow battle. I'm not saying this is a good ending, but to complain about it requires the same level of complaint about the end of ATLA. I'll double check, but I don't remember you hating it the way you hate this, just saying.
Kevin Bartelen
I mean, surely Republic City is just REALLY close to one of the portals and that's why Unalok attacks it first.. - Wait, it's pretty much right in the middle? Well shit. I've got nothing, you're on you're own.

I think if it weren’t for season 2, Korra would actually be a pretty solid show. They just fumble the finale episodes so hard that it really makes it hard to enjoy the season as a whole to be honest.

this is probably me just doing the riters work fore them but i like to think that the reason that kora can still bend all the elements and stuff is that the avatars soul has ben fused with rava for so long that it has gened the ability to use all 4 elements on its one and jus loses the strength and ability to bend all at the same time that comes with the avatar

I can't wait to see Zaheer again!

We might get one of those considering what he said at the very end of the video, after the Patron shout-outs. He didn't announce S3 was up next.
Thomas Howe
Big upset of the entire two shows. I'd rather watch The Great Divide back-to-back than this. Thanks for putting a generation of fan's thoughts into words.
Christopher Shivers
i think what you're missing is that ATLA had three seasons to build up the Agni Kai against azula and zuko. Three seasons of zuko's character arc. Even if they did the final battle between korra and una lok just like ATLA it wouldn't be impactful bc who is that guy, we barely have a back story, and we barely know him

I feel like I'm going crazy, because I swear to God when I first saw this episode when Jinora shows up to save the day she is holding the teapot!!

So excited for season 3!!!! the best season in my opinion, keen to hear your thoughts!!
Sven
Excited for season 3. I feel like season 3 of Korra may be the best season of Avatar all together. And I'm actually curious what you think.
Sargent _Carrot69
okay, so what my theory is that raava only carries the elements to the next person, while housing the other past lives. so when she was destroyed, so were the other past lives, but the control of the elements is something that Korra would always have. suffice it to say that if she died in this state, then no one else would ever be able to bend all 4 elements.
FinnSword
Oooo, if he ever does one of those again, a general one about some more famous cryptids might be fun. Those are some of my favorite videos of his.

one thing that’s bugged me a shit ton about this episode is the over dramatic turning tides of the battle and the use of scale instead of the characters using good choreography, skill, wits, and maybe even the area around them itself to get the upper hand. the fight in this episode though? either Korra is 100% winning or Unaloq is 100% winning and the transition between who has the upper hand is near instant or entirely unexplained. they want to create cheap tension and heroic moments but don’t actually do the legwork to make the battle tense and exciting, it’s two massive fluorescent idiots shooting lasers that they’ve never had before at each other. just because the fighters are huge and/or a lot of damage happens doesn’t make anything cool. you gotta get creative

You are hilarious. Out loud laughing multiple times throughout. I agree with these opinions. The way you go about explaining it is great! When I listen you actually add a lot of depth while watching. Very enjoyable. 10/10 television. 😆😂

The first time I watched Season 2 of Korra....I got to the final two episodes and dropped it. It wasn't until some time later I bothered to go back and finish.
Emilio
I absolutely love how you are tearing this episode apart, definitely my least favorite of them all other than the end of season 4.

Finally 💰

Season 3 is S tier

Idk how anyone sees Zaheer as anything more than a pretty textbook "destroy the symbol of light and remake the world in my image" villan that has been done a million times. He's really not that complex and there are some VERY baffling choices made. I hope that OA is also in this camp of feeling this way because honestly I'm tired of people saying Season 3 is incredible when it's just the best season of a very sloppy and messy show storyline wise. It's still got A LOT of problems
Mason
I was utterly befuddled by this season when it aired. I was happy to have more Avatar, but also really disappointed by what they came up with. I enjoy the Wan episodes for what they are, but am very happy that season 3 really brings things back.
Fintris Orchid
Im excited for season 3
Isbey Isbey
Thanks for keeping those updates really consistent. I know it's not that much fun to complain about a sucky season
Spooderman
Well the worst is over. Season 3 will be fun and the Toph episodes in season 4 as well.
maskofthedragon
"He said he's going to dismantle Zaheer's ideology" That's pretty easy when the guy's plan was to fuck everything up forever
Leonard Marston
I think you should take a small break in between this and season 3. Would love another video like the “Overanalyzing Ghosts, bigfoot, aliens” etc type video. Just a fun video in between
Ty Farnsworth
The worst is over m8. It’s only uphill from here. And then slightly downhill again

Curious how you’ll feel about S3. Upon rewatch I think it has its own strange writing choices that makes it fall just short of ATLA’s heights, but it’s still very coherent in a way no other season of Korra is. I wouldn’t have minded if it had a couple more episodes to work with, but all told it does a lot very well in a short amount of time.
Brisken
Oh boy, here we go.
Chibi
He looks like a shadow lit up by the arrows, Korra should only have a visible nose and hands. I only edit to fix grammar
Samuel
You can't make me

The difference between Korra and Aang's cosmic self are the lack of mouth and solid details. Also Jinora Christ descended upon the world rather than return to her body.

Also, something that’s always bugged me about the final fight being at Republic City: why did we have that character moment with Raiko last episode?? Why waste screen time on Korra asking for help and Raiko saying no and then having the fight be in his face so he has to help anyway? What are we doing? Unless we’re meant to believe Korra wanted him to send all or part of his military or police force into the spirit portal, which seems on its face like a strange request, I just don’t understand.
TxnySama
I honestly wish you were more unhinged about this episode, im not saying “dance for me monkey” but this was way more flat than what made me subscribe in the first place
Aidan Fairfull
I was waiting for this all day! Hell yeah :)
A Sack of Paincakes
What a slog this season is.
Spencer Egerton
He said he's going to dismantle Zaheer's ideology. Excited to see how that goes.
