He clearly was a well trained martial artist. He is not against violence like other air benders so his training would be more combat focused with his own influence of Air bending

JayTarrant

Part of the reason why I still don't buy Zaheer's skill is that airbending largely doesn't use strikes in the first place. The style is about evasion, using air to push people away, using mobility to fight from odd angles. What strikes there are usually involve slashes and chops. Yet while Zaheer does a lot of flipping around, its not as fluid as, say, Ty Lee so its doubtful that would have helped without air bending. He's also not using space effectively, and is largely static in where he actually is even if he has lots of movements. And his strikes seem very much like modern bending, which should be antithetical to the ancient disciplines he would have studied and therefore shouldn't be as effective with air bending (even Korra can only manage straight jabs and kicks). So in a fight where he doesn't have the element of surprise, given Kya is the daughter of Aang, it seems ridiculous that he should be an even match.

I imagine Zaheer practiced airbender moves kind-of like Sozin's sister Zeisan did: she was a non-bender, but she was taught airbender styles of motion and culture and stuff. Though she had the bonus of having an actual airbender teacher.

I just love this guy's sense of humor, even the editing adds a lot to it.

Your comment about Zaheer possibly training in air bender forms to fight made me think that it might've been really interesting if he had actually known Aang, at least briefly. Like it would mean they'd have to explain his whole Avatar hatred a bit differently but it still might've been neat

He junda becomes korras mentor in season 4

This season really fires on all cylinders and the situation is about to get a lot more urgent and interesting

Techno triedto defile the metal but techno was proven wrong

A guy who goes by SfDebris actually did a video not too long ago covering the psychology of Su and Lynn's relationship. There seems to be a lot of good stuff there, but I don't think I could do it justice trying to explain it in a comment.

Zaheer has to be one of my favorite characters in this series. He's steadfast in his beliefs, confident in his ability, constantly driven, and later in the series his shows humility and wisdom for Korra. Great antagonist, great character, and I have full belief that he'd be a great mentor

One thing I’ve noticed watching these videos is the difference between bending styles, specifically generationally. Kya’s bending and Tenzin’s bending both appear more similar to Aang’s/Katara’s, from a movement perspective at least. Part of that could just be the fact that they’re literally their kids, and learned to do it from Aang and Katara. But also based on brief white lotus moments, I think the differences are truly generational, and the bending styles blending together seems to be pretty recent and mostly only in Republic City and the youth there.

Bro the kya and zaheer fight is so fucking kool. I love when zaheer tries to glide away and kya uses the water to yank him and slam him into the ground. It's animated beautifully and it's such a brutal hit it's sick

Varrick did not escape prison he escaped jail/holding. Prison means you got convicted, Mako should know the difference unless he was not properly trained.

Justin Gregory

13:05 zaheer was straight up respecting tenzins music collection
