I’m interested to see where this goes. I’ve always felt the biggest weakness of Korra is how shallow its politics are, and it culminates here in a “authoritarianism bad plotline” when this possibly the worst possible scenario to do so. Kuvira is going all the heavy lifting putting the largest of the four nations back together while Prince Wu and Team Avatar can generously be said to do “not much to help.” It’s only logical that Kuvira would not want to hand over power to a spoiled idiot like Wu, and to a degree it feels like the writers had Kuvira start doing stereotypical Mustache guy things like throwing non-EK people into concentration camps and making liberal use of re-education camps. It can feel less like a reveal that Kuvira was bad all along and more like compensating for the fact they the writers worried they mad herseen too reasonable, or at least effective, in the first half of the season.

Season 4 is so much better than season 1 in my opinion. Is that a hot take?

I thought this was implied also.

It would be fun to have an episode were the da lee are used to retake ba sin sa by team avatar through some shadow dealings with say varrik in season 4.

There's a lot in this season they do right, but there's a lot of stuff I don't like that they do more. Prince Wu is the centerpiece of it all

“The bandits have planes? Who the hell is funding them?” I don’t remember if there were strong implications of this in the show (guess we’ll see lol), but I always assumed it was Kuvira funneling money to them to make it easier for her to coerce governors into submission. Only other option I could see is they looted them from Ba Sing Se after the queen was assassinated, but that seems like too much of a stretch to me given several years have passed, during which time Kuvira or others would be working to shoot those out of the sky or otherwise break them, and I don’t think the bandits would have the skills and resources to be regularly repairing them or building new ones.

Season 4 starts off so great but goes downhill. There was only a few months between this and season 3 so it prob needed more time
