Thanks, Mat!

In your upcoming 2025 animated movies part, you forgot both animated adaptations of the Jesus story, The King of Kings and Light of the World.

Love the video, AniMat! Well worth the wait! I'm just saying that...may be lay off the politic a tad bit in your intros? It kind of...disrupts the atmosphere for me. As a Canadian, I can't say I'm a R or a D, but it kind of sucks when it seems like I have take sides even when watching a video about animated movies. Not that I don't agree with you on some things, it's just that your comments there seem.... out of place... just saying...

Well, this was definitely worth the wait and another great video from you, AniMat. There’s no denying 2024 was a really underwhelming year for animated films with most of them being bad and mid with only a few great ones. But I still had a great time last year with Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot and am glad I got to experience them in theaters, so at least we still got 2 masterpieces. I’ll admit some of your choices on your Worst list were surprising as 2 of them weren’t how I was expecting them to be placed and 2 of them were ones I wasn’t expecting to be on the list with Spellbound being lower as I expected that one to be higher and Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie to be the #1 pick and films like The Tiger’s Apprentice and Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate being on there; especially with the latter being your #1. pick, but still a good choice given the film’s reputation on the Internet during the start of 2024. Although my only concern with you placing MvTDS on your list is that now that opens the doors for one of your Patrons to request you to review it for your Classic Review series and THAT certainly wouldn’t be a pleasant thing to go through that cringe again just to fulfill a request from a Patron as you reluctantly had to go through with Tentacolino: In Search of the Titanic. I also hope this year will be better than last year for animated films. The good start we had with Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl gives me some hope, and I do look forward to The Bad Guys 2 & Zootopia 2 and Elio. I do have some reservations for The Twist since it was the only book by Road Dahl that hasn’t been adapted yet and hopefully it turns out decent and does some justice to Dahl and the source material. 🤞

Mat, I can’t read all the text for the 2025 sneak peek at the end.

I gotta say for this year I couldn't agree more with. Even I have my fair share of great appeal to Major Disappointments. I don't think I made it obvious my the biggest letdown was when Sandy Cheeks got her poor excuse of a film. Even If I tried to enjoy it, it's almost near to impossible to find good things about it. (And that's Coming from Me!) All I am glad it's not the definitive worst but it's still upsetting They snoop down to this low to the point they don't even know what to do with him! Now I do say when it comes to best I thought some the others were great on their own right but I say in my most anticipations like Garfield, Despicable Me 4, The Wild Robot, Inside Out 2, and my personal favorite this year Transformers One! Like I know some are better then other, But I'm trying give more Love to it since I feel like they been given overshadowed by other popular movies. So far I can only hope they make better films for next year and hopefully The anticipated becomes more appreciated! (Especially for the next two SpongeBob movies)

He already watch it so I know he is going to give it a 1/10

I think him just watching it alone is enough to justify how bad it is! Besides he didn’t even reviewed the two Loud House movies either so by chance he’ll do it as a classic review

Very good list that was worth the wait! I definitely agree with all the picks on the best list. The Wild Robot and Inside Out 2 are both at the top of my 2024 list! Orion and the Dark and Piece by Piece were extremely underrated. I wish Orion was submitted as a movie and not a special. It also sucked that it got ignored when it came out because all everyone could talk about with DreamWorks was rant about Megamind and KFP4. Algorithms just thrive on negativity more. And thank you for saying that Doom Syndicate is a pilot movie, because I haven't seen many other reviewers say it and act like it is a legit sequel by DreamWorks proper and not a pilot movie by their TV division. It doesn't excuse the quality, but it's something that everyone overlooks. Also love in the peek ahead segment when there's a recurring theme with what's coming ("gimme more Lin-Manuel Miranda music!" and "OH NO, NOT AGAIN!" in the 2021 look ahead come to mind), and "I'm with the furries on this one, I am so hyped for this sequel!" made me laugh and the best way to describe the hype for The Bad Guys 2 and Zootopia 2. Furries are eating good this year. My most anticipated animated films of 2025 are Wildwood, The Bad Guys 2, Elio, and Zootopia 2.

Is he going to review the megmind sequel

I have to agree that 2024 for animated movies was a downgrade compared to animated films in 2023. I also agree that the best and worst animated films of 2024 are from DreamWorks: The Wild Robot and Megamind Vs. The Doom Syndicate. It almost likes the Jekyll and Hyde personally of the company as they bring out one of the best films and possibly the worst film from the company though I do feel sorry that their in house production is no longer producing their own animation as we enter into 2025, but if they win Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, then it would be a true blessing to give a farewell to their in house production. For animated films in 2025, I don’t think we be getting a lot of animated films coming to theaters this year. After Dog Man and Looney Tunes movie, it gonna be awhile until Elio comes out with only live action films like Paddington In Peru, Snow White remake, and A Minecraft Movie that will be in the way though I’m most looking forward to the former the most. I’m also curious to when Wildwood from Laika Studios to come out because so far, no release date yet and no distributor for the movie either but I hope hear some news soon. For Netflix, only Sony’s K-Pop: Demon Hunter that I’m looking forward to the most as I hope it can be awesome. The ones I’m looking forward the most this year are K-Pop: Demon Hunters, Wildwood, Zootopia 2, and The Bad Guys 2 and that pretty much it. Maybe Demon Slayer trilogy too though that depends whenever months it gonna release it in. Not much animated films to come out but I least I got horror films like 28 Years Later that I can look forward too if that the case.

I definitely do agree that 2024 really wasn’t the strongest year for animated films, while we had some good ones, a lot of them were either meh or just downright terrible, rather it be a movie in which the production was a lot more fascinating than the movie itself with the Tiger’s Appearance, an animated musical from a studio still being run by a creep with Spellbound, one of the worst things to come out of SpongeBob in recent years with Saving Bikini Bottom, and an awful sequel that was meant to be a pilot for an animated series with Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate, I’ll admit I’m a little surprised you included it on the list considering you never reviewed it and at most only did an AniMat Watches on it, but I agree with how terrible it is, and how it was only meant so Universal could capitalize on the popularity of Megamind, and how it only served as a pilot for a Peacock animated series, the only good thing we got out of it is a hilarious video from Schaffrillas with the famous “SHOOT THEM WITH THE DEHYDRATION GUN” bit. As for the best we did still have some winners this year, including some pretty underrated stuff as well including the best Transformers movie, a very underrated Dreamworks project that deserved better with Orion and the Dark, one of the best sequels from Pixar with Inside Out 2, that absolutely deserves the title of the highest grossing animated film of all time, and one of Dreamworks best animated films they’ve ever made with the Wild Robot, I agree that the Wild Robot is the best animated film of 2024, with how much of a powerful animated film it is, and another hit from Chris Sanders, and I am excited to see what they’re planning with the sequel. Overall in terms of animated films, it definitely was a weak year, there were some winners, but a lot of the other ones range from meh to being flat out terrible. As for 2025, it definitely seems like it’s gonna be a better year for animated films, we already had a strong start with Wallace and Gromit Vengeance Most Foul, and Dog Man was decent too. For me my most anticipated animated films for 2025 are The Day the Earth Blew Up A Looney Tunes Movie, Elio, The Bad Guys 2 and Zootopia 2, overall let’s hope for the best for 2025 and hopefully we will get some strong animated films.

Worth the wait good sir!

Toontastic Juju

The fact that Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate made it to number 1 on the worst list is one big surprise!

Strider_Blaze

It may be February now, but hey I’m glad you took the time to cook with this video. We are in for some dark times ahead, but we can only do what we can to make the best out of all this.
