Oh Lord please tell me there's more. Enthusigasm is very genuinely one of the main deciding factors in my extending my patreon subscription. It is SO good! Helen is beyond my mortal capabilities of compliments; she really does have the most uncanny knack for hosting and every episode, I can absolutely trust that as a listener, I am in absolutely trustworthy, capable hands. Each episode just increases my love and loyalty for the Rusty Towers family and I honestly wish this, or some version of this, could be released to everyone as another Rusty Quill staple podcast. I could quite honestly ramble on in praise forever so I'm gonna stop myself here 😂♥️

I've really enjoyed Enthusigasm. Helen's a wonderful host, and the format - casual and loosely moderated discussion amongst friendly enthusiasts with varying expertise on a subject - is a great alternative to the 'deep dive' non-fiction podcasts that are so common. It balances slice-of-life and specialist humour in a way that's really organic and comfortable, and even on the level of its premise, it's almost guaranteed to be fun. I've always loved listening to people talk about their enthusiasms (I'm a nerd for nerds, some kind of meta-geek) so the show does strike that particular chord in me. I don't think this is a bad thing, though: the world could use more podcasts for enthusiastic generalists to break up some of the overwhelmingly focused content out there!

I really loved this show, and I hope that it comes back for a second season! Even the episodes about topics that I didn't know anything about were really fun to listen to. Helen was such a great host, and I loved the synergy between a lot of the groups. (The LotR and Austen episodes were my favorites, I think.)

I think my favorite eps of Enthusigasm were the ones where y'all got really pretentious about fiction and media, because you're all fairly sophisticated consumers of fiction and I can learn a lot from you! But, of course, it's fun to have that spaced out with more down-to-earth stuff like this Dating episode XD

Hearing from people in a variety of departments at RQ is a really nice reminder that a lot of work from a lot of people goes into doing what you do. The conversational format makes it really feel like a bonus because it's a little more personal too. Ms. Gould is wonderful, and doing a fantastic job as a host.

If there is a second season I'd also love it if RQ could take the extra time pre-release to secure transcripts released synchronously with the episode like with Magnus and Stellar Firma. I understand that it's a big ask, but especially with the variety of voices on Enthusigasm, it would be a real help <3.
