[Nobles] Azu letter to Chinua

Dear Chinua,
I am sorry I have not written in so long. A lot has happened since my last letter โ as I am sure you know, since it must have been eighteen months for you. I keep forgetting that.
Friend, I do not know where to begin.
You always say to look on the positive side, and I do try to take that to heart. So, I will start there for you. I have made even more new friends. Eren Fairhands seemed to be proud of me last time I saw him. I have seen some interesting places and met some interesting people. They tell me that Kenya is not badly affected by whatever is happening with this vein disease, so I trust that you and the village are both doing fine. Perhaps, by now, you have even found somebody else to marry. And I and many of my friends are not dead.
So there is all that to be grateful for; but I still owe you an explanation for my long silence. I am not good at explaining things, as you well know, but I will try.
The adventuring group I joined was targeted and they kidnapped our loved ones. The hostages were taken to a place where time moves differently โ that is where Emeka went, though he is now back in Cairo โ so we went in there to get them back, and we succeeded. But I lost two good friends in the process; Sasha and Grizzop, who I told you about before.
That all happened a year and a half ago for you, but only a few days back for me. I can still barely wrap my head around it. It hurts very badly.
Anyway, we came back to all this, and now I am in Japan in a cell because our boss (you remember Wilde, the posh Englishman?) and a farting dwarf do not trust us and want to watch us for a week to make sure we donโt have blue veins. Then we can start doing something to help again. I will be glad when we do. I need to be moving.
I still have Hamid with me, though he is sleeping. I have said it before but you would not believe how small he is. I hope you can meet him some day, when this is all over. I wish you could have met Sasha and Grizzop too. At least you met Einstein.
I hope you really are well. I hope you have found someone to fall in love with in the time I have been away; they would be very lucky. I hope you are as happy and safe as can be expected.
Tell me about good things. How is your cousin and her kids? Is your pottery business going well? Did your sister have her baby? I want to know everything that has happened.

I'm gonna cry... she's so sweet... and Chihua sounds lovely too -- I love the implication that she's written to him a lot and told him about all of her new friends! Gosh, I hope things turn out okay................ fear.jpg....... Also "I and many of my friends are not dead" is such a howl-worthy euphemism. Yeah. Many of them are not dead. Most are not dead.
