Honestly, I don't know, if ISHOULD mention it, but the moment I knew THIS part of the podcast will be the called the "Endgame", all I could think about was this one "The Avengers: Endgame" fansong made by an unbelievably amazing guy. I hope, it's allowed to suggest listening to it without posting a link?! So it would be "Endgame" by "Aviators" for anyone who's willing to give it a go =D

Current hypothesis: Barret did something to Babbage's brain/replaced it with someone else's in a way that gives the cult of Hades control of the blue veins if the kill switch is used. Then killed Tesla so he can't fix it.

Good point! Yes, it wouldn't be for nothing, but it might not be for anything we or the players suspect. On a side-note, I do admire how he used his nightmare mechanic to get the players so used to the idea that sleep requires multiple saves that they never suspected the scrying.

I might be misremembering (it's hard to keep track of it all), but I don't think Alex has ever called for a roll that didn't lead somewhere (or have the potential to lead somewhere if the roll was bad). All those Will saves he spent 5 years asking for were actually relevant, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Sense Motive is as well.

Alternative theory: he didn't, but Alex is asking for all those Sense Motives just to cause suspicion and divert attention from something else dastardly that he (Alex, not Barrett) is doing. My paranoia is multi-directional.

Soooo .... Barrett either got blue-veined in a way that can pass the checks, or otherwise sold them out, didn't he?

I was excited like these were presents someone had given to me instead of these characters who only exist in our heads. I'm choosing to ignore the terror of what they're leading up to, though. I'm sure it'll only be sunshine and rainbows from here. Yep. Absolutely nothing to worry about. Everything's fine.

yet again feeling the rewards of how absolutely wonderful this episode was to listen to vs the mortifying ordeal of what that means alex is planning to bring down on everyone. (potential spoilers from here) also i've never needed something more than art of zolf in his lovely new grey cloak, stood next to wilde in the most outrageous and gorgeous display of rainbow and ruffles ever seen.
