Aaaahhh i expected heart-shattering sads, as promised by the gang on twitter, but honestly this was so lovely! Yes, angst, yes, emotions, yes, fantastic character choices and acting and voice acting from everyone, but i'm left with my heart just warm and full ;v; love these kids SO much, and I like to think the barista is bemused but also just glad that these kids worked out whatever weird WEIRD stuff is going over there. So pleased with Morgan's backstory also, the pieces fall in perfectly with the tidbits I do remember were dropped right in her intro scene, but somehow I still didn't expect any of this, or how it went down in the end. I really love how all of the players took the basic archetypes provided by the character books and both play the tropes straight and hit all the classic clichés (which is fun!! those are classics of the genre because we love them!! that makes this show an enjoyable young-superheroes story for fans of young-superheroes stories!), AND also deconstruct, twist, play around with and cleverly handle traditions and expectations. Hats off to everyone (including Maddy!). So impressed, and so happy, that I got this invested, entertained and surprised by such a short campaign (per what i'm used to, which is... just RQG). I was originally very surprised by the choice of 18 episodes per story, but it seems like a sweet spot!! Aaaaa I'm going to miss these kids, but I've had so much fun with them, and I now know I can fully trust that I've have just as much fun with the next campaign. ... BUT it's not over yet before that there's 2 more eps for a finale to devastate me LET'S GO LET'S GO >:D
