Well, it's not as if I HATED the show. All in all, it was good. I just wish the parts I didn't like (iffy writting, uneven pacing) hadn't dragged down the parts I did (solid superhero action) Speaking of action, I REALLY need to watch One Punch Man. I've heard very little that isn't good.

I've pretty much made Tiger & Bunny my favorite anime from early on in the decade. You've probably seen me around conventions in the past 4 years probably wearing a T&B tee shirt or wearing Kotetsu's nice hat or somesuch. The first T&B movie is now my preferred way to get people into watching the show instead of the first two episodes. I understand this wasn't your bag, but I love this show to death. I lament that we won't get a 2nd season due to the live-action Hollywood adaptation coming in a few years (announced at NYCC this year), but for the most part I loved this show to death. So what do you think of One-Punch Man? Have you read the manga or seen the anime?

Well, that's just the TV anime industry in general, right there...

I may be wrong but I think with as much as they had to rely on sponsorship from the companies featured in the series, they were more than likely pressured to get everything out as quickly as possible so when the movie rolled around they finally had the time to put those little details in that they had to pass by during the series. Except you know, Yuri and the whole Lunatic thing. Maybe in the Hollywood version~

And what's especially weird is how much BETTER the movie version of those events work. Somehow, despite having less running time, it sets up the heroes as an ensemble much more successfully than the show every did. Also, having Kotetsu flash back to his wife during that first meeting with Lloyds makes that scene play VERY differently, and better in my opinion (since it makes him come across as more noble and less pathetic)

Watching the first T&B movie after it's been months since you've seen the anime is just a mindfuck. For the first 20 minutes of watching it with a friend (who hadn't seen the anime in longer than I have) we were both just going "I don't remember this part happening in the anime.." "There's no way I would have forgotten a meeting between Yuri and Barnaby.... right?"
