A lot of times when you are strumming the ukulele there are some empty spaces. Maybe you do four strum patterns but only sing over 2 of them, that means you have two measures where you are just strumming the ukulele, you aren't singing, you aren't doing anything else but just strumming the ukulele. This is a wasted opportunity. You can do all kinds of very cool things in the space. A very common approach to creating fills is to use the scale, it is easy and you don't have to think that much, you just now the scale and shred in the open space, but we can do things that fit the harmony even better but creating these ideas around chords. These means chord shapes and arpeggios. You can just strum one strum pattern over a different chord, you can fingerpick those different shapes, you can spread them out and play the notes individually, there are so many things you can do so I am going to show you how to create fills based on chords, or chordal fills.
