Russia does NOT get to decide which countries should be allowed into NATO. Ukraine, like the rest of the countries bordering to the west of Russia, is a FREE country and is allowed to apply for NATO membership if they want to. Also, what-about-ism towards the US has no relevance. The US/NATO invasion of Iraq was criminal and the people responsible are criminals and should ALL be in jail, but that does not make Russia any less guilty of war crimes in Ukraine now - does it? If every country gets a free pass by saying: "Well, you also did something horrible, so we can as well" then the world truly is doomed.

I think the Russia situation is more complicated than for-profit media makes it seem. It's not just that Russia, WRONGLY, invaded Ukraine. It's that NATO has pushed itself onto Russia's borders. Ukraine has been pulled strongly in two directions by both Russia and the West. To your example, how would you feel is Canada militarily aligned with China? Or if Mexico started receiving weapons shipments from Afghanistan? It's not as simple as Russia is evil because they invaded a sovereign country. (Anyone remember Iraq?) Russia should not have invaded, and both the West and Russia should not have been interfering in Ukraine.

I loved the show and Abby's points about the conservatives in the US. However, the part about Russia/Ukraine seems to be VERY misinformed. The best way to put it would be like this: How would the US feel about Canada invading the states, annexing the entire east coast, and then demanding peace talks? Ukraine is DEFENDING their country, and now they're expected to go into peace talks with a terrorist aggressor? Putin is NOT a good guy, he can not be negotiated with, as he has proven hundreds of times, and he only has one goal in mind: to annex the entire Ukraine into Russia. NATO, the UN and EU are ALL agreeing on this, yet Abby Martin thinks its about sitting down and sweet talking the guy. He's a lunatic, corrupt, and evil. He has committed crimes against humanity thousands of times and should be imprisoned for life. There can and will only be peace when Russia withdraws from Ukraine. Whatever your opinion is about US foreign affairs should not matter here. Biden is doing right by the world supporting Ukraine, and the entire EU would be doomed without it.
