There was a fashion for anti-aircraft cruisers, the thinking being that you wouldn't need an aircraft carrier with fighters just a ship with lots of powerful AA guns.

Those AA guns look like British quadriple pom pom guns, with the four ammo boxes and two shields for the two guys standing at the front

Looks like a british light cruiser design, with 127mm turrets. But can't point to which one exactly. EDIT: Whoops, 133mm turrets
