The writer/director might've been coasting between projects, but it is a career defining film for nearly everyone involved.
It's edgy, profound, violent, and beautiful, all at the same time.
I didn't watch the movie until just a couple days ago, and I'd advise you don't wait like I did.

My dad owned a DVD of that movie. I got to watch it years ago. And, he also owned Se7en.
I watched the film and the way it handled Mathilda's and Leon's relationship felt a little off to me, I looked up it and the director of this film dated a girl who was 12 when he was 29.
