Thanks Greg, Great to have a vid about the P-40. I can only imagine how challenging it would have been to maintain them in New Guinea or North Africa and that’s why I love them. No glamour, just effective under trying conditions.

Just rumor? But I have heard from the Unlimited Hydroplane community that Allison has a more robust cylinder or piston bore design than the Merlin. Something to do with the Merlin being rigid and resistant to twisting forces under large boost pressures than the Allison. Feeble memory, enjoyed the video as always.

Greg, great content as always. Moral, you can't compare two aircraft made at different times and for different purposes. I can't find the Ricardo book. Is that only at the captain level or am I just missing it? Thanks.
