I get asked often why I prefer mid tier battles -- it's precisely for the reasons you're stating. I like brawling. I like it when the action is hot and close (lewd). It's a rarity in high tier matches. x.x
Interesting review, and I agree with your comments on the high tier meta. I am just working up to tier 6 in most cases, tho managed to pick up a few T7 and T8 premiums in the Shipmas sale. I am amazed at how passive those battles are - the BB's just sit back and lob shells. Quite the disappointment to me, and I usually exit the games early as I tend to be overly aggressive with my heavy ships. Well, I like a bruising take down of an enemy BB where we are going in circles pummeling each other - it's like the battles of the sailing era. I am sorry, but random battles at the higher tiers are just boring for the most part - give me Co-op and T3/T4 randoms....
