Hey buddy, the most important thing is to fill the areas 100% with superglue and let it dry completely, otherwise it'll ruin everything. Then you can apply the red paint however you want. You don't need to let it dry, but if you do, no problem—you're not in a hurry, so you can remove it with alcohol later ! Hope this help 🙂

do you let the red on the shell dry before removing it with alcohol or do you wipe it off while the paint is still very wet?

It's standard Sunlu gray, but I'm using this one because it's what I have on hand. Clear resin will also work perfectly 😊
