I have yet to see such a wholesome, kindhearted character amidst so much horror, one that manages to stay optimistic and positive. This show has so much dimension and style to it MORE PLEASE. I think it's time to binge hehehehe

So you know how in western culture, we say that spirits and ghosts are doomed to roam, stuck with unfinished business before they can pass on. There is a similarity in eastern cultures lore with the supernatural and demon lore and the priests and exorcists of those cultures; only those undead or unnatural things are stuck with their trauma and corrupting emotions without resolution or closure. Additionally, historically, much of eastern culture revolves around shame or embarrassment to extreme expressions of emotions. Demon Slayer, I feel, is a mirror to slaying the trauma in abusive people within their culture, and Tanjiro is a new type of Demon Slayer that slays with compassion, understanding and love, rather than the stoic or disdain that other slayers have for demons. In eastern cultures, there has been a shift in bringing more understanding and compassion to helping others through their trauma, over the last 20ish years; into a culture that is known for suppressing many emotions and behaviors; leaving trauma to slowly poison the people from the inside. Turning them into 'demonic' versions of themselves, or rather abusive versions.
