Here's a headcanon that will really spin your noggin: Ferris and Sloan don't exist. Cameron invented them as a means of dealing with his own fractured psyche. He created Ferris to be everything that he wished he could be, and Sloan to be his idea of the perfect woman. Roll that around for a while.

I've seen this movie a ton, but watching with somebody that hasn't seen it before makes it way better. I love that it's in Chicago. That's where I'd move to if I had the dough to do it. And seeing baseball games in person is a lot more fun than watching on TV.

Fun reaction; especially the speculation about the car... As to the deep secret thing... people miss more than they notice however, it is not too late to correct those things and also (probably more important) forgive themselves for past failures to stop and look around. Pretty sure that micro-sermon was more annoying than you are in your reactions so this Gen-Xer will stop now and keep enjoying the ride.

Fun reaction. I saw this in the theater in the summer of '86 between my junior and senior years of high school. The movie was like a documentary/fantasy for me at the time.

Thanks for a great reaction. I agree that the movie's overall message is to live life now! I've watched "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" many times since it was released on disc and streaming and always watch it from beginning to end. May I suggest another comedy about growing up in a bygone era - George Lucas' "American Graffiti" (1973). The movie poster tagline was "Where Were You In '62?" but the theme of the movie is actually 'You can't stay 17 forever."

Nailed it with the analysis as always! Hank in Breaking Bad does a really bad "Bueller? Bueller" impression, but I think that as around the beginning of S2.
