🕑 Added 2023-11-29 06:10:08 +0000 UTCThanksgiving is officially over… so you know what that means! 😇☺️
Tis the season!!🍫⛄️🎁🧣
With the holidays are fast approaching, we’ll be kicking off the season a little early - starting with a holiday themed movie poll!!
I compiled the most popular holiday films I’ve seen around and put them down in the poll. ☺️ Be sure to comment your holiday recommendations and let me know what your thoughts are!! 😊
(I had no idea some of these were deemed holiday movies so I was shocked that they were considered - felt the same way when I watched Die Hard LOL)
Thank you guys so much, so excited to spend the holiday season with you guys - can't wait to see what you guys choose 🤗❤️✨

They do the same for Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life, and Groundhogs Day. They play The Shining all day, all year in the Stanley Hotel. You haven't made any point except haten' on A Christmas Story, which was like one out five that I mentioned.
Joe Mallard
Christmas Story is one of the most overrated movies ever, thanks to every channel that plays it ALL DAY on Christmas.
Matt
Love that movie
Chad Bradbrooke
I have to mention my favourite Christmas movie of all time: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Michael Franolich
Please watch guardians of the galaxy holiday special

Is there really any substance at all to Home Alone other than nostalgia and Christmas commercialism? *shudder* #WorstMovieEver
Kev Martin
Sounds weird. Is it Japanese filmmakers culturally appropriating Christmas, or Hollywood types appropriating Anime and dropping it in a Christmas flick?
LightsCameraJake
Not only that, we all know how huge Home alone is in pop culture so vee has probably seen most the film just through clips and memes alone. I can already tell there is going to be many "I KNOW THIS MEME" "I saw this in a clip" during the reaction. Personally I think Elf is more of a Vee type humor movie.

Please consider adding THE FAMILY MAN (2000) to this Christmas movie list! It stars Nicolas Cage, Tea Leoni, Don Cheadle and Jeremy Piven. (Romance/Comedy)

Fair.

I am absolutely appalled that Home Alone is winning over A Christmas Story, Gremlins, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, AND Elf! Home Alone is so terrible compared to most of the others on this list. Home Alone became a 'straight to VHS series'. There are 6 Home Alone films...6! Hallmark/Lifetime/Disney channels milked this Christmas concept way beyond its death. You know that deluge of 'new' Christmas movies that come out every year on these channels, purely meant to sell the ideal of the Rockwell Christmas and encouraging more consumerism. That's how bad it is and how desperately they milked this concept. Like, I am highly suspicious you are being pranked with Home Alone winning this poll, V. lol And Scrooged with Bill Murray didn't make the list? What is happening right now? lol
mikethemotormouth
Missing from this list is Trapped in Paradise(1994), Krampus(2015) and Grumpy Old Men(1993)
mikethemotormouth
Almost as good as the '47 original

If Die Hard 2 is an Xmas movie, Die Hard 4 is a July 4th movie

Seriously, I know! Like, why? How?

I think you will like just about anything on this list. I voted for four I like best. I wanted to add 'A Christmas Carol' but there are SO MANY versions of Charles Dickens' story that IDK which one you mean! IMO the BEST movie version of the story and the one you want is A CHRISTMAS CAROL starring Alastair Sim as "SCROOGE". It's a 1951 movie and Sim's portrayal is nothing short of STELLAR, and it all just WORKS. I'd love to know if that is the movie you chose for the poll.
Robert Jewell
Dear V, which A Christmas Carol? There are at least 3 versions. I like the 1984 version the best and a lot of people like the 1951 version quite a lot.
Kel
I really hope you end up watching It’s a Wonderful Life. It’s actually my favorite movie of all time. I remember my mom loving it as a kid and I always thought it was boring because it was long and in black and white (though there is a color version!). As an adult I sat down to watch it and realized just how incredible it is. It really makes you understand what’s important in life and how even when things seem at their darkest, help and hope come from surprising places. I watch it every year now. 😊

For me, my preferred version of A Xmas Carol is the 1951 version with Alistair Sim. Likewise, I prefer the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th street but I like the 1994 version too. Since I discovered it 10+ Yrs ago, I like to watch the 1947 film The Bishop`s Wife on Xmas Eve along with the previous two. On the run up to it, I watch films like the 1940 The Shop Around The Corner, the 1946 It's a Wonderful Life, the 1988 Scrooged.
Mathias
Miracle on 34th street (1994) is a must watch Christmas movie.
Jordan Love
I notice you haven't watched Die Hard 2 yet. That's also an xmas movie. It's nearly as good as the 1st one and once you watch it, you can watch 3 and 4 anytime. You can watch 5 if you want but nobody will mind if you skip that one. You definately don't want to miss 3, trust me, and 4 is just good fun.

The Ref (1994) is one of the most underrated xmas movies of all time. Possibly one of Dennis Leary's funniest films. And it's got Judy Davis, Christine Baranski, and it's apparently J.K. Simmons first film. Also Kevin Spacey, but it's hard to avoid him, he's in so many good movies and he's a damn good actor, even if a shit person.
Kev Martin
OMFG. Home Alone?
Matt Chris
If you got time for more christmas movies: An underrated movie is "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (1998) its a Christmas Teenager comedy movie with good old late 90's/early 2000's vibes from that American Pie, Scream, Not Another Teen Movie, Final Destination, etc... era. The movie starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas (from the popular tv show "Home Improvement" and Jessica Biel (currently Justin Timberlake's wife) It's a lighthearted fun little romantic christmas movie that i loved since the first time I've seen it.
Jeremy Bassi
It's a no-brainer that I'm going to vote for Home Alone, but I really hope you watch Tokyo Godfathers as well. It's not often you come across anime movies set during Christmas.
Jonathan Blake Fore
Needs Harold and Kunar Christmas movie on the list
Jonathan Blake Fore
No violent night ?

Vee has probably seen the entirety of Home Alone just through the sheer amount of memes and clips there are of it. Lets be honest. So many of these other amazing Holiday films that constantly get dwarfed when home alone is in a poll, like its the only Christmas movie that anybody who watches react content has ever seen lol
Bryan Tuck
Gremlins is like Die Hard; it's sort of an ironic Christmas movie, but it's one of my favorites. :)
Bryan Tuck
Yeah; there are quite a few of those :)
3dbadboy1
Which version of A Christmas Carol? What year?
Matt
Just saw a new christmas film today called THE HOLDOVERS definitely worth checking out one of my favorites films iv seen this year😊
Matt
Don't tell me you haven't seen Home Alone?
James Hawkins
Hello there vee, Any plans to watch Oppenheimer? I know its not a holiday film but wow its so good, just came to streaming last week! :)
Jaroslav Dočekal
If you haven't watched Home Alone, it has to change.
Ian
I can't not vote for elf it's perfect for you Vicky I can say hundred percent you will love it it's so wholesome and funny and well gremlins is a classic so either of these would make fantastic reactions 👌 regardless what wins your reaction will be wonderful as they always are 👌
