✨🎁Holiday Season Poll!🎄✨
🕑 Added 2023-12-07 06:05:49 +0000 UTCNow that we are full swing into December, lets keep up the festivities with another holiday themed movie poll!
DON'T WORRY - for those of you who don't celebrate or care much for the holidays, A NON-HOLIDAY THEMED POLL IS COMING RIGHT UP (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) (just trying to do these a bit earlier hehe)
I took your suggestions and added them to the poll! Again, I haven't seen any of these movies so I have no reference or recommendations other than you guys! So what you comment, is what I will be putting down.😊
Thank you guys so much, so excited to spend the holiday season with you guys - can't wait to see what you guys choose 🤗❤️✨
P.s. if you don't see a movie from the previous poll here... don't worry. 😏😇

Is better call saul om the way when Breaking bad is finished or do we hace to vote on it first?
Calbert
Hawkeye is a great series and yes is a Christmas series but I left that out on my suggestion just because it is a little more involved with it being 6 episodes. That might be hard to cram in unexpectedly and edited before the holiday season is over but yes I hope she watches that series at some point because it is really good.
Aldo Gonzales
Hawkeye as well. Don’t forget about it Hawkeye. It’s a holiday event, too.
Arne Bjørnebekk
You should watch Fatman. It's a very very different story involving Santa Claus, not recommended for the smallest kids... because of violence.
Pitz Woodworks
Christmas Vacation is a must watch, do it girl !!!!
Michael Joseph
Nice to see I’m not the only doofus who likes gremlins at Christmas
Chad Bradbrooke
I still cannot recommend National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation enough. And yes, only Grinch movie worth watching is the original animation from the 1966.
Eric Janssen
Which Grinch? The original Chuck Jones TV special? Otherwise, stay far away from the others...
Matty H
It’s not a Christmas movie but i highly recommend Uncle Buck. It has John Candy and Macaulay Culkin

I think I might know the one you're talking about, V. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town 1970 starts with a mailman who narrates and maybe sings because of the tradition of writing Santa letters. The mailman taking the letters to the North Pole was a common part of the Santa mythos as a kid. But I can give you a list of shorts; a lot of these have good songs. Frosty the Snowman 1969 Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer 1964 (the song Silver and Gold lives forever in my head, lol) Jack Frost 1979 A Claymation Christmas Celebration 1987 this has the California Raisins singing Christmas carols in there jazzy style in a sort of anthology holiday story telling kinda way. Their version of the song Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer is how I remember all the reindeer names, lol. And Babes in Toyland (a film, not a short) has 2 versions: 1961 with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello or 1986 with Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves Lastly, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas 1977, so good, Jim Henson puppetry.

The night before is a great Christmas movie.

Hoping for gremlins as I haven't watched any vee reactions in almost a month so will make a nice change 👍
VKunia
I didn'teven know they made one that recently Mike LOL

I completely understand TJ!! When I read your comment I got really concerned for a moment that I messed up the title LMAO but that sounds awesome. I personally don't think I've seen a single animated Christmas short... or maybe animated movie growing up. Just a movie a couple years back about a mailman I think?? 😅
mikethemotormouth
The 1966 Karloff animated version is titled nearly identically to the 2000 live action w/Jim Carrey but ending with an exclamation mark vs no punctuation. The Grinch is more of a Dreamworks style animation from 2018.

💯

Expect the greatest monolog ever recited in all of cinema history when a girl recounts her Christmas memory. And there's child Corey Feldman. That's all I'm spoiling
Raptor
Expect Gremlins, lol
Raptor
I see. I thought the 2000 movie was called The Grinch. I've seen the animated short too many times that the films never interested me. I was raised in my mother's daycare so I've seen all the animations and clay-mations every holiday for most of my youth. I didn't realized they didn't change the name even though the 2000 movie is heavily focused on Jim's performance so they might as well call it The Grinch, lol.

Thanks! It makes it easier to see the newest ones at the top — plus i think FAMILY MAN would garner more votes if it weren’t hidden all the way down! I guarantee you would love it!
VKunia
LOL
VKunia
Ooh thank you for the recommendation! I usually don't have a specific order :)
VKunia
Ooh thank you for specifying! That's what I was worried about, was not having context for it but thank you for dispelling that :)
VKunia
I've heard that but i have no idea what to expect LOL
VKunia
No the 2000 movie!! it has the same name as a short but I wouldn't put a short on a movie poll without specifying. :)
Bryan Tuck
Since it came out, I guess. :) It was a big hit originally, and it's remained pretty popular.
VKunia
yes we are!! :)
Richard Maurer
It's Gremlin's year, apparently.
hfwilliams
Miracle on 34th Street from 1947 is the original (and IMO the better one). Not the Jim Carry version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Karloff one is better (and a classic) but is short. If you haven't seen A Christmas Story you should.
Raptor
How the Grinch Stole Christmas? You mean the 30min 1966 animation? That's not really a movie, more like a holiday TV spot. Do people think that it's the same as The Grinch with Jim Carry or something?
Willow McPhie
Violent Night is so good. Instant classic.
YodatheHobbit
When did everybody start liking Gremlins?
N M
May I suggest re-arranging the movies, by listing them in the year in which they came out, with the most recent at the top!
N M
Agree! This is the hidden Christmas movie GEM 💎 that not many people remember from the year 2000. So good!!!
James Hawkins
I agree with Calbert. The only required viewing before Gardians 3 is The Guardians of the Galexy Holiday Special. You don't even have to hop back into the MCU entirely. As long as you saw End Game, that's all you need to know before hand :)
Calbert
At some point I know you said you were going to jump back into the MCU. There is the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special. It’s about 45-50 mins but it does have some plot points that play into guardians of the galaxy vol 3. If you have time it might be good to watch it in December.

Hey Vee, any chance we are getting Oppenheimer in the near future? I rememebr you saying you were excited for it!
Rey
A good christmas movie that never gets talked about
Rey
Gremlins or scrooge for me, some of my Christmas favorites
Justin
In Crawl Space when Walt says "I need to collect my wife & kids"- reminds me so much of George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life
Matt
Recommend a new christmas film THE HOLDOVERS
Matt
The Family Man is one of my favorites
Jesse Darty
Come on gremlins! It's such a good Xmas movie.
