Forbidden Planet from 1956 was the first science fiction film set entirely out of the Solar System and on another planet. It starred a pre Naked Gun Leslie Nielsen in a serious leading man role, and for the males in your audience, Anne Francis. It also starred one of the first robots with a personality and a real part in the story. It was also, unusual for the time, in color.

Hahaha this won't win any polls or likely get many votes at all but here's a WEIRD, but good one: Fantastic Planet (Le Planete Sauvage) 1973 animated independent French film with a pretty trippy soundtrack. Make that REALLY trippy lol.

I’ll second Long Time’s recommendation of 70’s Scifi glory days— That brief time between 2001’s artsiness and Star Wars’ popcorn that gave us: - Logan’s Run - Rollerball - Westworld - Soylent Green - the Planet of the Apes sequels And, yes, Sleeper, if it’ll get her watching more Early Funny Woody Allen.

Hey V. If I could recommend just one Sci-Fi/Dystopian film in would be Children of Men. It's heartbreaking and optimistic all at then same time. My most recommend movie ever.

In Bruges and Banshees Of Inisherin are both amazing films by the same writer/ director Martin McDonagh, I'd also highly recommend his 2017 film "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri"

The Sci Fi movie you need to 100% see is "The Abyss" by James Cameron. It was a film previously not available on streaming but in november, James Cameron finally rescanned his movie from the 80s into beautiful stunning 4k quality, you can get it on Amazon Prime.

I’m gonna suggest something that could be a bit controversial. Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). It is so bad! But the reaction will be gold! If you do it, I suggest having it as a collaboration with another reactor, like you’ve done with MaryCherry and Natalie Gold because it’s more fun when there are others there to make fun of it with. Just a thought.

Don't remember ehich sci fi films you have seen but I would love to see the blade rinner films in the poll. Titan AE is also a childhood favourite of mine that deserves more love. Other recommendations are RoboCop, escape from new York, Terminator, the Alien movies.
