Oh wow, I haven't seen this movie in years and it's such a fun movie to watch just like you said with an all-star cast. Yes, I heard the pup snoring and at first I didn't know if it was yours or mine. So cute. ❤️

Since J was curious, here’s the basic idea of how a siphon works! The trick is removing all the air from the tube. By sucking the air out she is creating a vacuum inside the tube. This causes the gasoline at the other end to get sucked up into the tube to fill the empty space (just like how a straw works). In this stage the power of her suction is what’s allowing the liquid to fight gravity and go upward. Now, once the entire tube is empty of air (and full of gasoline), she can lower her end of the tube to a height that is beneath the level of the gas tank. And at this stage gravity itself is what takes over the role of her suction. Since most of the liquid-filled tube is below the tank, gravity then pulls the gasoline in her end of the tube downwards and out into the gas can below (instead of back into the tank). Since the liquid can’t separate inside the tube without causing a vacuum, this flow continues to pull the gasoline in the car’s tank up through the tube and out into the can. The flow will continue until the tank is empty, an equilibrium is reached (aka if the liquid in the tank and the liquid in the can reached an equal height from the ground), or someone breaks the system. Voila! The power of science! :)
