My thought is that the wife and child were not Spock and his mom (Amanda?) but Sybok and his mom. Makes sense that xenophobic humans wouldn’t marry Vulcans

My head canon for why Q named dropped “Yesterday’s Enterprise” was that Elnor says he read Picard’s autobiography, and that is a pretty good chapter title. But then I realized that Yesterday’s Enterprise ends with Picard having no knowledge of what occurred. So it only makes sense if Q is both consciously aware of our universe, where Star Trek is a TV show, and he says “Yesterday’s Enterprise” as a short hand so we know which variation of alternate reality we’re in this week…. But… does that mean Q was never playing games with Picard, he was actually playing games with me, the viewer at home?
