Atherium can be useful for flying air craft carriers. There was a legit project in the US to convert a Bowing 747 into a mig fighter carrier. Then more modern and efficient fighters made migs irrelevant, for example, the Phantom. Atherium can help put spacecraft into space or can help a huge aircraft (give the “Flying Fortress” bomber a new definition) travel over the storm barrier into the old lands for scouting or invading. Would love a remake of a WWII bombing raid, make it rain bombs. The heat from the internal combustion engines can heat the atherium and help with efficiency. The planes can even keep an extremely high altitude due to the lack of weight. Or the UN could make heavily armed zeppelins that can act as aircraft carriers and huge bombers. Like a steampunk-ish WWI zeppelin. Like in the game Battlefield 1, but with armored plating and huge air to ground cannons. The flying aircraft carrier from the first Avengers movie is now feasible.

Putting a balloon of any kind on an aircraft will produce lots of drag. Its on ly valuable if you do not have a runway or landing pad.

A Lost Robot

Maybe not for planes but a aetherium powered aircraft carrier would be dope.

Thanks

I disagree with the doctors reasoning. Aetherium would allow longer flights which gives it more range and possible harrier jump jet capability. They all would be able to carry more bombs, fuel, cargo, and armor. It is not much different than finding an ultralite material that doesn't sacrifice strength. As an example when they captured the princess. If the planes had the ability to stay on station "hover" then they could have stopped them from leaving. Instead they had to refuel. Not every plane needs it but it would be wise to incorporate Aether into designs just like any technology.

I agree. Its better to add aetherium to gundam. Gundam!
