The site he's using will have original music references. And they say the names in English because that's how it original is. In the dub they change it completely

BTW the music references are removed in the subs too. And no, there is no such thing as a legal copy with uncensored subtitles.

The dub is fine. Sorry to break it to you, but the biggest reason people think sub is better is because they don't speak Japanese and therefore can't spot cringe voice acting in Japanese

I've seen it in dub the appeal is there but it's not as enjoyable, there will be times where things are so funny because it's switched in English, some words don't match up completely or it's just cringey. I also saw someone say the references are more understandable but it's not true at all because they are removed because of copyright in the dub version. In the end its your desicion I respectfully world have to pass, one of my favorite characters sounds horrible in dub and it doesn't match his personality. But I think you did a great job following along it's not a fast paced read imo

Thank you! It really comes down to the dub vs sub. Bc I can enjoy dumb SO much more since I can relax and not have to read, but people seem to be adamant about sub.

So excited for this I loved your reaction love the pausing , I feel like you did great with the sub because you pause and make sure you got it. The dub isn't bad but please things will not be the same trust me dio won't sound as menacing and there's meme moments that don't make since in dub So as far as it being slow it varies depending on taste I feel like it's more of a new gen anime watcher opinion but in comparison to the rest this is more of a build up but keep in mind this part was written in the late 70s early 80s The visuals on outroa change sob you can watch, if you don't want to watch every single opening I suggest just the first one then last(sound effects) and the changing ones Lastly I hope YouTube doesn't stress you out to much this is a great anime, I can already tell you'll love it. If you love villains your in the right place. Don't let others opinions effect your viewing 🤗

On my first watch through I went with dub just 'cause it's easier for me to process then I went back and rewatched in sub, the sub and dub both have their own memes/moments but you still get the meat and potatoes of the story, if you wanna watch it in dub go for it! You can always rewatch in the other format if you want :)

Oh btw, Team Four Star did short "Jojo abridged" type videos. After you finish Part 5 you can watch those. Though I wouldn't watch any before then for spoiler reasons, their Part 1 vid has spoilers at least up to Part 3 and probably further that I can't remember rn

You'll probably still get some sub purists begging you to go back, but really all you miss out on in dub is a few funny scenes (though the dub has its own funny scenes the sub won't have) and the music references are less obvious in dub

Dio is the Best Villain ... "but it was me, DIO!" is still one of my favorite memes. for me, I think it is less about liking him and more about appreciation for the villainy
