Just in time for WorldPride 2025, the District Eagle is officially open—and trust us, it’s everything we didn’t know we needed and more. Located right next to Bunker on the buzzing U Street corridor, this edgy speakeasy-style bar is already making waves, and we are OBSESSED. 😈
Let’s spill the tea on why this place is a must for your next night out:
🍸 The Entrance: Start your night by pulling an “out of order” vintage vending machine to reveal a glowing red LED-lit corridor that leads you straight into the action. And, of course, you’ll pass an Eagle Store stocked with all the fetish gear and accessories you didn’t know you needed (or did 😏).
🎶 The Vibes: The bar itself is dimly lit with a sultry, sexy energy that hits you the second you step inside. Think edgy, think moody, think… fun things happen here. There’s a small dance floor where, let’s just say, the energy is electric (and yes, they’re not policing your behavior, so go ahead and let loose). 👀
🕶️ The Details:
Two quirky bathrooms with unique urinal and sink combos.
A padded-wall dark room in the second bathroom that gets very busy as the night progresses (yeah, you’re gonna want to check it out).
A sling room downstairs before the coat check for those feeling extra adventurous.
On busy nights, Eagle XL upstairs opens with another DJ, a second bar, and an outdoor area where you can cool off (or heat things up 🔥).
✨ Don’t Miss Jock Strap Night!
Our favorite night so far has to be Wednesday’s Jock Strap Night. The bar was packed with a sexy, diverse crowd that had no intention of holding back. Let’s just say, this is where you come to see and be seen (or maybe not seen, depending on your spot in the dark room 😉).
We hit up opening night, and WOW—the crowd, the vibe, the freedom. This bar is a much-needed throwback to the uninhibited energy of gay bars we’ve loved in DC, like Shirtless (and Pantsless) Thursdays at Green Lantern.

Wednesday: Hit up District Eagle for Jock Strap Night.

100%!! We also just learned if you spend $20 or more at Eagle on weekends, you can ask the bartender for a stamp for free entrance to Bunker!

Oooh it’s a good one! New York can also be really good, especially Sunday’s on the roof deck in summer. And finally Tom’s Leather Bar in CDMX is perhaps the best we’ve been to (Tuesday’s is 🔥 🔥 🔥)!!
