This isn’t just any cruise—it’s our second time on Apex, and after last year’s transatlantic crossing on the brand-new Celebrity Ascent, we are hooked on these longer, ultra-relaxing repositioning cruises. And guess what? Our love for transoceanic voyages started way back with our first transpacific cruise on Celebrity Eclipse, which just so happened to be in port with us on embarkation day! 🚢💙
Embarkation Day Rituals: Miami Vices & Sun Worshipping
With just a quick 20-25 minute ride from Wilton Manors to Port Everglades, we love boarding early to start the voyage right—aka, with Miami Vices in hand at the Sunset or Pool Bar. 🍹☀️ If you haven’t had one, it’s the perfect mix of Piña Colada & Strawberry Daiquiri—extra refreshing, especially if you might be nursing a little hangover from Wilton Manors’ nightlife the night before. 😏
After that? Straight to the pool loungers—and surprise, surprise, this is always where we find the most gay passengers soaking up the sun. If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that gay cruisers LOVE these transatlantic and transpacific crossings, and we totally get why: fewer kids (hallelujah), great value, and total relaxation. 🏖️
The Biggest Gay Happy Hour Turnout Yet!
Speaking of gay cruisers—this voyage blew us away with its LGBTQ+ crowd! At our first gay happy hour in Eden Lounge, we counted at least 40-50+ fellow gay passengers—even the Celebrity LGBTQ+ host was shocked at the turnout! 🌈🎉 That’s easily our biggest group yet on a non-gay charter, which just proves: transatlantic and transpacific cruises are where it’s at.
Nude Room Tour & Balcony Kiss—Because, Why Not? 😉
As we settle into our first day at sea, we’ll leave you with Andy’s now-trending nude room tour and, of course, our balcony kiss to celebrate the journey ahead (and our first time with an infinite veranda)! 😘 Trust us—there’s plenty more fun to come when we start getting… bored. 😏

Thank you! We loved that TA last year! The ship is gorgeous, especially the improvements to the pool deck and sunset bar from Apex! Hopefully they move the LGBTQ HH from Sunset Bar to somewhere easier to mix and mingle. That’s where they had it last year and we had great weather (thankfully) so it was packed every night with general pax each night! Have a great trip!!
