Wasn't the intro victim Jada Pinkett Smith (& her boyfriend)? Sarah was killed off early on in the film though.

Spike can't hurt any human beings. Moralities such as evil and good, and innocent and guilty have nothing to do with it. Spike can strike, rip apart, and kill morally good demons. The chip in his head just prevents him from being able to hurt any human beings.

Fun fact, when you mentioned the Scream reference as Buffy answers the phone call about Faith, I suddenly remembered she was the intro victim in Scream 2. 😱
