January 1st I'm taking off from here in San Diego at 6am (going to be chilly!) and riding up to LA to meet up with my buddy. From there we are riding up the famous Hwy 1 all the way up to San Francisco. We'll stop and get a hotel when we get tired and then spend the next day (Saturday the 2nd) exploring the city. I'll be taking various pics/video clips of the trip and will make it into a video. We will get another hotel or something Saturday then ride back home Sunday.
I'll be laying out all the stuff I'm packing and put that in the video.
I found out going to LA the other day to hang out with my buddy Mykell that I get about 130 miles on my Tracer before the fuel light comes on.
I was thinking about making a series of videos like this called, "I felt like riding to San Francisco."
"I felt like riding to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, etc." Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea. I had a weekend camping trip last month. Bought a seat bag, but it wasn't suitable, so I returned it and went for a BMW bag, which was more expensive but loads of pockets, features, waterproof interior, etc, and an ability to tuck the handles into two zip pockets - a nice touch. So your learnings of the long trips would be great.
Great idea FE! I like it in particular, because Iβm selling my S 1000 R and getting an R 1250 GS Adventure and going on a series of rides all over the country with a buddy. Goals change so need a new bike to accommodate. Iβll be doing a lot of MC camping but would still like to see what you pack for the hotel stays.

Yes yes yes and LOVE THIS IDEA! I would love to meet up with you if you next time you are passing through LA or nearby. I will be down in San Diego on the 1st. HA. My next extended ride is out to Death Valley in the Spring.

Sounds like a great ride.. I found even with my 220 mile range that I stopped between 120 - 150 miles to refuel and stretch my legs a bit.... heading east from here you will need to plan out your fuel stops with the smaller range possibly cary a little fuel for that extra 15- 20 miles...

I was there for vacation and checked it out in a car and walking...what a crazy road!
