AltServer 1.5 - Biggest AltServer Update Yet!
🕑 Added 2020-12-17 22:08:41 +0000 UTCTo finish off this crazy year, I'm very happy to announce AltServer 1.5 is now in beta and will be the biggest update to AltServer since it was first released! This update focuses on adding several often requested features, so thank you all for your feedback 🙂
First and foremost, AltServer finally supports multiple devices with the same Apple ID 📱. This means you can use the same Apple ID to install AltStore on multiple devices, as long as you use the same AltServer to do so. Once installed though, AltStore can then refresh itself with any AltServer, not just the one it was installed with.
Another often requested feature, AltServer can now sideload .ipas directly to iOS devices, bypassing AltStore 📲. This is intended for one-off installations, where you don't want to install AltStore onto a device just to then sideload another app. Because it bypasses AltStore though, apps sideloaded this way will not automatically be refreshed, and must be refreshed manually by re-installing every week.
NOTE: Hold Shift when clicking the AltServer icon to make the "Sideload .ipa" option appear on Windows. macOS AltServer will eventually also hide "Sideload .ipa" by default, but for now it is always visible.
In addition to regular iOS devices, AltServer also now supports sideloading .ipas to Apple TVs 📺📺. Both macOS and Windows support Apple TV 4th gen (with USB-C port), but you must plug the Apple TV into your computer first and trust it before it will show up in AltServer. Apple TV 4K is only supported on macOS for now, and you must pair the Apple TV with Xcode before it will show up in AltServer.
For those who like to live on the edge, this beta no longer requires a Mail plug-in if SIP and AMFI are disabled ✉️. I generally don't recommend disabling SIP on your computer if you can help it, but if you want to keep using AltStore without worrying about leaving Mail open, this should make your AltStore experience much smoother. Instructions on how to disable SIP and AMFI can be found on the AltServer public beta page: https://altstore.io/altserver/beta/
Rounding out the quality of life improvements, AltServer 1.5 will now prefer paid developer teams to free ones, if multiple are tied to your Apple ID 🧑💻. This should fix the longstanding issue where sometimes AltStore and other sideloaded apps would only last 7 days, even when using a paid developer account. AltStore itself still needs to be updated to account for this, but a new beta with that change should be available soon.
As always, please let me know any issues you encounter while testing! Mac users, you can download the attached AltServer and use it as-is. Windows users, you might need to uninstall your existing AltServer first in order for the beta to install properly.

Hey, I wonder how to use AltStore with Apple TV 4K. I have Windows and hackintosh I can see my iPhone on both Windows and Hackintosh, but I cannot find my Apple TV 4K in AltStore client devices list. I couldn't find any guide for Apple TV 4K Any guide here for setup AltStore with Apple TV? Thanks

u prob saw the tweet but refreshing or installing new apps with altstore will crash said apps immediately. they're gonna release a fix for it later

Altstore crashes upon opening after fresh install, running newest Altserver beta on windows 10. Using Altstore on iPhone XS on IOS 13.4.1. I cant seem to figure out why it keeps crashing, there are no errors and I've tried disabling windows firewall and installing in airplane mode and nothing is solving the issue.

It seems that altstore crashes when trying to sideload large ipa. Would you pls fix it?
I installed the AltServer on my Win 10 PC and installed AltStore to the phone successfully, but upon trying to download sideloaded apps, the progress bar shown when downloading nearly completes, halts, and shortly after throws the error, "Failed to write app data to device." I don't know to really troubleshoot this issue, given that it is not mentioned in the FAQ page. iOS 14.3 , Device iPhone X

Had to install with my kids' Windows PC as it just won't work on 11.1. I get the CFNetworkDownload tmp file doesn't exist error. Then once installed I can't download apps via the Mac as the Mail Plugin error occurs even with the workaround in the config file. Only thing working so far is Windows through the whole chain. Definitely not ideal.

My iPhone 12 just updated to 14.3 automatically, and now when I open AltStore I’m getting a message that it needs to be updated. I’m running 1.4.2b1.

trying to side load install Kodi ipa to my Apple TV running 14.3 via my M1 MacBook Pro and it starts the install but Altserver shuts itself down before the app is installed. Any suggestions? I have a paid developers account

Ever since updating to the new beta I’ve been getting the sync failed error pop up. When I tap to rectify it says sync successful. But I still get the sync failed pop up every time.

Thank you for adding the support for preferring paid over free profiles. I've been fighting this all day. Unfortunately, I'm still fighting it... I have updated to 1.5b1, and I have signed in with my account, which reinstalled AltStore, but it still says my apps have 7 days left, even if I refresh them. Is there anything special I need to do? Thank you for your hard work!
Can’t install altstore on apple tv 4 gen via usb-c. It says app with device family 1 wasnt built to support device family 3. I guess iphone app is being installed. I can side load other apps only but have to refresh them manually every week

I’m having the same problem! Haven’t found a fix yet.
If I install an application through AltServer rather than AltStore, would refreshing the app by reinstalling it affect the data that app uses, or would I have to uninstall the original and then put it back on, thus deleting the data?

Hi, I keep getting an error message when appllying the Mail Plugin on this beta update. I'm currently on MacOS Big Sur 11.2 beta 1, any way this issue can be fixed? I tried uninstalling the Plug-in and re-installing it but still keeps showing up. Incompatible Plug-in Disabled Mail has disabled the following plug-ins: AltPlugin.mailbundle Contact the makers of these plug-ins for versions that are compatible with Mail 14.0.

Can I somehow migrate my Mac OS AltServer installation to Windows with this release? Or will I need to delete AltStore from my iPhone first?

Pressing Shift on Windows and the clicking the icon to bring the "Sign IPA" option up doesn't work.
I only sideloaded Instagram and YouTube and my app ids is over.. how can I manage it better to effectively use the 10 app ids?
