AltStore and AltServer 1.6b4 - Checking App Compatibility 💜
🕑 Added 2022-11-30 18:28:39 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
AltStore 1.6b4 is now available with a few more improvements and an important feature as we move towards AltStore 2.0: checking whether updates are compatible with your iOS version. Now if you try to download an app from the store that isn’t compatible with your device, AltStore will show a prompt asking if you would like to download the last compatible version of the app instead. This is important because AltStore 2.0 will require iOS 15 or later, and we want to make sure that transition is as smooth as possible.
As mentioned, there are a couple of other improvements we have included, such as being able to “Search FAQ” from all AltServer error alerts (updates to the FAQ are coming soon!) and pull-to-refresh for updates in the “My Apps” tab.
This will also be the final beta before the RC, which we hope to have available soon. If all goes well, the final release of 1.6 should follow quickly after. We’re close to the end of the error handling journey, so thanks for sticking with us!

I got an interesting result using the ability to install an ipa via AltServer. With iOS 16, Tomb Raider 1 is only displayed on half a screen. If you install the game via AltServer with the Backbone One connected, then it is displayed on the full screen and is fully functional. There is no other way to achieve such a result: Sideloading, SideStore, iMazing, AppStore allow you to install the game, but do not fix the bug with the display.

Just tried to install several different Youtube apps. They all failed with variations of: Failed to load Info.plist from bundle at path /private/var/ containers/Bundle/Application/7D2A23AD-80CD-41B3-AB39-68DF5A99098E/App.app/PlugIns/MessagesExtension.appex; Extra info about "/private/var/ containers/Bundle/Application/7D2A23AD-80CD-41B3-AB39-68DF5A99098E/App.app/PlugIns/MessagesExtension.appex/Info.plist": Couldn't stat /private/ var/containers/Bundle/Application/7D2A23AD-80CD-41B3-AB39-68DF5A99098E/App.app/PlugIns/MessagesExtension.appex/Info.plist: No such file or directory

Hi! I just tried this last version on IOS 16.1.2, and prompts a message saying that developer mode is required. Never happened before. How is this solved? Thank you
